cybee 0 Posted March 12, 2010 Figured I better hurry and complete part 2 before Sconehead beats me to it. Ok let's get this silly thing back together. A little Pink Floyd music in the background and an iced coffee and we're ready to go. First we will put the clutch back in. Most of this is just going in reverse of the disassembly. Just make sure the hack lever is inside the clutch groove. Replace the winding pinion and insure that the pinion teeth will engage properly with the clutch. Now the intermediate wheel arm has been replaced. The set lever is now in place. Notice that the tip of the set lever rests against the intermediate wheel arm. (see arrow pointing below) Next, replace the clutch return lever making sure it rests in the groove of the clutch. Close-up of the clutch lever in the clutch groove. Now it's time to replace the keyless works cover. At first it will look something like this. We must push this part of the cover over so it engages the end of the clutch lever... ...so it will look like this. I used my screwdriver to do this and look, I scuffed it up a little. Oh well that's live television for you. ...also check to ensure that the lower end of the keyless cover engages with the set lever, as shown in the arrows below. Replace the intermediate wheel. At this point I give it a few swipes of rodico putty to remove the smudges. Replace the motion works cover and screw, clean the whole thing with some rodico and voila, completed. By this time you are ready for something a lot stronger to drink than iced coffee. This has been an RWG exclusive. Thanks for watching.

sconehead 5 Posted March 12, 2010 Great tuto Cybee..I notice you use a cloth to work on when messing with movements. I do the same, a microfibre, it really is a good practice as it catches any parts that get dropped/try to go airborne don't you find? Of course you only learn these tips in one of two ways, being shown/told or by making a mistake...unfortunately, I found out the hard way...
cybee 0 Posted March 12, 2010 cool... thanks I am pretty sure that my 2836-2 didn't look like that, though. not when I was done with it, anyhow well Kinky, I still havent put the stem in yet. If the stem doesnt function properly it will all need to be taken apart again. @sconehead: I used to just use a hard surface until I saw a post using the microfibre underneath. It really keeps the parts from rolling around, only sometimes it will pick up small fibre's with the tweezers. But it has been a lifesaver, no more hunting for parts unless they squirt out of the tweezers. Regarding the close up shots, I have no photoshop so I can't improve anything with the pics, but, luckily my $150 Nikon allows me to zoom in and crop the picture right in the camera. As long as the shot is in good focus, it works well and is easy to do. Thanks for the sticky KBH and crew...It's a real honor.

RolexAddict 1 Posted April 27, 2010 congrats cybee, I have seen your article to late , as right now I just fly over this board and don't go enough deep in sections. Thats exactly what I said I will develop here - unfortanatly, not enough time right now- the 28XX assembly/disassembly, step by step. You did start with the keyless exactly as I projected. Excellent job, and you pointed out the 2 most important tricks : to pay attention at the hack lever position and at the end of the rebuilt, the end of the clutch lever engagment.
