Oris Aquis Date - new addition.

Recommended Posts

Del

As some of you might have noticed in the wrist check thread, I picked up a new Oris yesterday. I've always fancied an Oris diver model and so when I saw this Aquis Date with a healthy discount in an AD's window I decided to try it on.....and the rest is history, as they say! :D

It's got a 43mm x 13mm stainless steel case, domed sapphire crystal with AR, ceramic bezel insert with yellow triangle, black dial with yellow minute track, yellow running seconds hand, superluminova hour markers/hands/pearl, 300 metres water rating, excellent bracelet and clasp with diver's extension and a Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement.

Very pleased with this. The size is perfect for me and it still has great presence. :)

A worthy addition to your stable Del, the yellow accents lift it away from the ordinary.

The quality of the finish looks rather nice as well.

I'll being keeping an eye out to see whether it makes a permanent home.

BTW - Did you see Oris have some nice pieces just unveiled at Baselworld?

I had actually been looking at the regular-style Aquis (blue version) but I must say that the yellow accents on this model give the watch some added visual appeal.

I haven't seen the new pieces from Oris yet but will be sure to check them out. :)

Very nice Del. Oris are bloody great watches that outclass many watches twice or three times their price point. Wish I hadn't of sold mine.

Thanks mate. First I've had although always fancied one. Very impressed with it so far - great spec, everything feels high quality and it's good value (especially when on sale ;) ).

On top of that, you can extend the standard 2-yr warranty by an extra year by simply registering it on "My Oris", which I've already done and the 3-yr warranty was confirmed. :)

Awesome watch Del. I'm intrigued that you went for the 43mm!

It's a perfect size for me actually. Any larger and it could look ridiculous, especially with the reasonably chunky lugs and bracelet. And the 43mm is only around 13mm thick so fits under a shirt cuff with ease. ;)

They are very well made and very good looking, I was surprised with the quality if I am honest, I have the small second version with the blue face and it gets alot of comments more than my other Gens. Very nice indeed Del!

That really is an impressive watch, the bezel insert is stunning and it's a wonderful color combination. I wish there was an AD anywhere near my country, I'd really like to see these in person.

Well done, it looks great on your wrist, wear it in good health! :)
