My (current) Gen Collection

Fucking RWG. I was happy. HAPPY you hear me?! A quartz Guess watch that I wore every day and no idea that there was a whole world of whore-ology out there..........

September 2013 my son was born. I spent a lot time awake during the night and started surfing the net looking for a Tag rep. I had been to Bali the year before and seen a couple in the shops. Almost got sucked in to buying something following a review by some wanker (watchesbyJames).

Fortunately did a bit of googling before pulling the trigger as he recommended a particular online seller. That brought me to a link on RWG. Started reading about the TDs, joined up, actually read the bloody new starter threads and then I was away.

Intended to buy one rep. A Breitling SO Heritage from Silex. I think I can track back to that being the beginning of the end. Reps turned to gens. Cheap gens turned to mid-price, turned to more than mid-price, turned to "there's not really a lot of difference between a $1K watch and a $3K watch".

I have bought and sold at least 60 watches in the last (not quite) three years and that brings me to my current collection (I wasn't and still am not a decent photographer - speak to Gaz if you want pretty photos)!

Bremont Supermarine S500 (everyone needs a great diver!)

Tudor Heritage Ranger (my idea of the perfect tool watch)

Nomos Orion 38 (just stunning as a dress watch)

Junghans Max Bill Anthracite (classic design and a great colour)

Defakto Akkord Modular (bronze and PVD - how can you go wrong)

Precista California (what you do when you can't afford Panerai, like the Radiomir reps but want lugs that work!)

2270C957-6575-4089-88F8-C33A4595C319_zpsj8nfvoh7.jpg

Tactico Geomaster GMT (might not be a keeper but I wanted a true GMT function and a black on black watch)

Seiko 007 (enough said)

Swatch Sistem51 (a present from my family - great summer watch, AMAZING movement and a 90 hour PR!!)

PS - fuck worn and wound too - they are at fault for at least half of the watches I bought ;)

Nice collection mate,

After years of wearing NO watch I bought a citizen eco-drive which took weeks of procrastination before I could part with the whole $150 but then I too discovered bloody RWG and have been fairly broke ever since.

Haven't got the Gen collection that you have but still spending too much time and money on watches.

Very Classy collection

Similar story for me. 3 months after finding RWG I went from a GShock that was given to me as a present to 2 gen Omega's & a gen Tag plus 14 reps :-D

To say my other half isn't impressed with my new hobby is an understatement lol

But I'm loving every second of it

Oh and I have my very first Seiko arriving soon & blame you and Gazzla 100% for that haha

That's one tasty collection, I'd own and wear every single one of them too.

You're fucked when you stumble on this forum, as it usually leads down the gen route....some reps just don't cut it.

Good work anyway, enjoy them all!

That´s some great aquired and well balanced horological taste there :) Congrats

Always had lower and upper mid-tier gens, found rwg and started saving a fortune buying 3 reps instead of 2 gens:

Fell in love with everything, spent a fortune on further reps afterwards, sounds familiar.

Common sense kicked in (kind of), so I´m happy with what I have, just wanting ro upgrade here and there.
