microwavesafe 0 Posted May 13, 2017 I know that there is not a lot of love for Casio watches (or digital watches in general), but I have to share this watch that I got recently. This is the Casio Gulfmaster from the Master of G series. This is my default work/outdoors watch where I need precision and the added functionality. I was able to pick this piece up for $175 from a friend. This watch definitely requires a manual to operate but I actually like the learning curve. Overall, the watch feels super solid. It is definitely big for my wrist but it still fits better than the Suunto I was looking at. The coolest feature in my opinion is the battery saving mode. When you don't wear it for a while, the hands stop moving. When you pick the watch up, the hands move to the appropriate time, wait for the second and start right on queue. Either way, I love the watch and that's what is important right?
Daywatch 4 Posted May 14, 2017 Multifunctions are fun - what does it do with 3 sensors?
microwavesafe 0 Posted May 14, 2017 Multifunctions are fun - what does it do with 3 sensors? The 3 sensors are for the Altimeter/Barometer, Thermometer and Compass. I find them all to be pretty accurate, but they definitely needed to be calibrated when I first got the watch. There is also a GPS receiver that picks up the local time and adjusts the hands accordingly a number of times throughout the day.
Mazz 62 Posted May 15, 2017 i find that the altimeters are pretty inaccurate my favorite shock is the mudman compass and temp and moon phases
Lowflyermike 0 Posted May 15, 2017 It looks really cool. I have a casio pilot watch. But my favorite battery powered is my Luminox Point Recon. Awesome watch.
hwlexus 0 Posted June 18, 2017 I had the gulfmaster for about a year and regret selling it away. Now looking to buy another Casio Rangeman.
microwavesafe 0 Posted June 20, 2017 I looked into those as well, I think I like the Gulfmaster more, but it was hard to say because the Rangeman models are a bit cheaper.
