got a question about replacing

Hi, I just opened the box, and will provide my own pics.. but I had a question.

I got this watch - and it came with a leather strap with Insignia buckle, and the buckle and looks pretty decent with IWC SCHAUFFHAUSEN engraved on the clasp in back... I like that, it's cool.

Watch here...

So, when I close it the strap I can basically get the pin on the buckle into the first hole, and I can put it on... and wear it. But that metal harp underneath that folds under the strap and sits against the underside of the wrist is definitely irritating and primarily because the strap is too tight. If the strap had the ability to relax and provide little breathing room for the wrist, I dare say it would feel ok.

I am a big dude, with a 7.5" wrist, 19 1/2 cm.

Now, I sort of knew the strap length issue going into it... as I researched the strap length before I actually bought the watch. I didn't care so much, because I wanted the watch. So, my question is this... have you guys ever worked with anyone on here, who could save the strap (clasp) hardware and re-appropriate it to a new, longer strap?

Is this a common problem? Or do you guys just get a new leather strap and forget about the hardware?

It seems a shame to not have the hardware on a new strap. The watch is a beauty.

Rob

I really like the look and function of a deployant clasp on a leather strap. I really hate they way they feel. Even gens are uncomfortable after a couple hours in my opinion.

I feel the exact same way! I can't stand a deployment even though they look great. I usually end up buying an aftermarket buckle for most of my watches
