Rep Watch Repair in US

Recommended Posts

built2prfctn

Hey guys ,Been looking to send a couple of my rep watches out for repair and service. Can anyone recommend anyone in US.

I've been looking around the forums haven't had any luck.

In the past speedy did a lot of repairs for me. Is he still around? Any other recommendations?

Thanks

So I am also in need of a repair person for a couple of reps from trustytime - no fault here -Andrew just happens to be my source - I have 4 now from him and love them all

1. 2003? Rolex Submariner with ETA - The crystal popped off and the o ring broke and after a couple ebay replacement I ordered- I give up - can't get one to fit and no one locally will touch it. Also - in waiting to get it fixed I damaged the hands - sourced rolex gen hands and can provide to whoever is willing to repair

2. Pam with Asian Valjoux 7750 - the crystal exploded as they are prone to do and in the repair process the jeweler did the unthinkable and broke the chronograph trying to calibrate it back to zero position. I need someone to rehab the chronograph.

I am in Philadelphia area/USA.

Vac, Strodda, 14060 or 16110? Are all ones I've used. With the sub, you may want to look into sourcing a gen 704 crown and tube if you are spending the money to fix it. I don't think the gen hands will work without modifications, you may need to pickup a rep set. I think startimesupply and Yuki watch sell them. Also, you probably will need to source a new crystal gasket for it to sit and stay in place. On the panerai, how did he break it,?

Thank you for your response - I will check those out. The break was in pushing the buttons with the crown and stem out as a means for adjusting the calibration as you would on an authentic valjoux movement. Apparently on replicas this does quite a bit of harm? I am not an expert - was my first and only replica chronograph. I can't imagine it would take much to repair.

Wow. I'm surprised you would be asking about watch repair after getting that badge. Nobody is going to take a risk doing business with you, especially when they could be held liable for any nonsense that may be started by you after sending your watch to them for repair.

You must have to get that "Do not buy or sell to me" tag attached to your account. They don't just hand those out, so you've done something stupid. Care to elaborate on what you've done?

I've been waiting for somebody to chime in that knows what's going on. I have never heard of the wrong member getting a No Sale ban.

Andrew charges $120 for service and waterproof to 50m. Is that the repair or something else.

Don't pay extra for a TD to waterproof a watch. Take it to a trusted watch Smith to have this done

I have a similar question. I have a submariner that has a number loose on the dial that I need fixed. I also have an explorer that has a loose number and also is froze. I would love to have these repaired. I don't need them waterproofed as I don't get them wet.

If you go to the home page at the bottom the members on line are displayed, the ones with blue names are the ones you need to speak too

Okay, I will repeat the question.  Who is Andrew/how might one contact him?  Is this some kind of state secret, asking if anyone knows if there is a U.S. based repair person who will work on reps?

Besides the ones listed in this thread already, why not look for the watch modders and repairs section and find your answer there.  They have their own sections on this board.

Also, not sure mods are gonna like the fact that you signed up with a new account to get rid of the no sale tag...

I don't know that guy with the bad badge from Adam's off ox.  I am just an ordinary citizen who bought a watch that worked pretty well for about 10 months and wonders if he might get it fixed.   I thought I ran across a positive recommendation on here a couple of months ago for, I believe, a woman somewhere in New England who did mail order repairs, but I got busy with something else and didn't follow up.  Now I cannot seem to find that thread.  A plain old Google search turns up something called Replica Watch Repair in Crystal Lake Illinois, but I found one post by someone who said he sent watches into that address and never heard a word back.  Not exactly confidence-inspiring.  I am guessing that no one in the U.S. wants it out there that they do any kind of work with these watches, but there must be some way other than traipsing around mom and mom shops in Miami where I live, trying to find someone willing to open the case of my Panerai homage whose stem has come lose.  I actually have sent two other watches back to the vendor in China to be repaired, and the results were fine, it just takes forever and the shipping is pretty expensive and I worry that one of these days, some Chinese customs inspector will shake the package and say, "Ah-hah, Inspector Chan, sounds like a replica watch."

PS--There is a link posted to "Katt," and I sent him a message, but I see that he has not posted any word that he is still working since 2012 and several others on this thread seem not to have heard from him over the past months.  Finally, back to "Andrew".  Color me stupid, but how might I find out how to contact this person?
