Can someone help me with DG2813?

I have a couple Omega 2254.50 with 2813 that I bought quite a while back. I finally got around to buying a movement. Only thing is date wheel is white and not black. I asked and it seems that a black with white letters is not available so I thought I would just swap out date wheels. Only thing is the 2813 is a little bitch to work on and it seems that there are several versions out there with very little info or pics available.

I got everything apart no problem, but when I take off the date wheel cover plate things jump around and I don't know how to get it back together. Does this look right?

I am thinking that I must have something wrong as I tried this and Date advances by turning the hour wheel so it advances 24 hrs and then advances to the next date, but for some reason the quick set won't change the date when the stem is in the "Date change position" I must have something wrong...

Can someone point out what I have wrong?

Thanks

First thing I can see is at the 5 on the date wheel, there is a lever sitting under the date wheel, this needs to sit inside the date wheel in between the teeth and with pressure from that spring holding it in place, BEWARE that spring will fly at the slightest movement, I use a a flat piece of wood to hold it in place (fish and chip shop wooden fork!) Then an oiler to push the lever into place.

then whip the top plate on and fingers crossed away you go.

I'm looking at the stem area and can't see anything out of kilter there with the setting lever etc, as you say there are many variety of the dg2813 all with their own nuances.

hopefully the link NCRICH has given you will help.

Glad you got it sorted mate, I know so many people on here and other forums just say ditch the movement and replace with a new one as they are so cheap, thats great but if you work on them you gain knowledge and if it does go wrong then yeah replace and you have a small source of spares.
