childishthing 1 Posted April 9, 2017 I'm looking for help with removing these blue marks. I've had the watch for a while, even photographed it, but I just noticed them about a week ago. My plan was to take the caseback off and lightly scratch at the area with a toothpick (soaked in alcohol if need be), but I'm concerned that perhaps flakes of the blue material may come off and get into the inner-workings of the watch... How would you go about this? Also, what is that blue stuff anyway? My assumption is that it's the same blue paint that goes on the screw heads, but I'm just guessing. Rx4Time 1,472 Posted April 9, 2017 You may want to remove the screw first. Perhaps a qtip with some mail polish remover, this way no flakes flying around?

mike_morgan 0 Posted April 9, 2017 I would leave the screw in place... Always try solvents first before resorting to scraping! First attempt would be 90% Isopropyl alcohol on a Q tip, second attempt would be acetone, assuming there is no way the acetone can find it's way to plastic parts, if any exist. Scraping is a last resort.
narikaa 129 Posted April 9, 2017 Before that try giving it a 'waxing' (a la brazilian) with adhesive tape....sometimes job done with minimum fuss
NCRich 13,738 Posted April 9, 2017 Rodico first, if that fails a pointy manicure qtip with a bit of acetone. That will take it right off.

I usually just use it for dust and general cleanup... I'll remember that!
