markeym3 2 Posted April 13, 2017 Hi Folks, I had a movement ( Asian clone 2824) replaced in my Rolex Sea Dweller SD4000 (Thanks ROLIE ) and over 6 days of wearing the watch and around 9 Hrs/night on its side Crown up it has been gaining around 1 Sec/day , pretty bloody good I reckon. Of course I am happy with this. So over the last week it has gained in total 4 seconds ,, it has varied how long/often it has been left on its side.. How does position effect your movement ? GenTLe 1,501 Posted April 13, 2017 It depends mainly on the movement quality :) A perfectly balanced balance wheel would show some difference only between watch flat or watch vertical (indipendent if crown up/down/middle way).
JSJ 0 Posted April 13, 2017 Yes it does affect my watches in a similar way. The amount of power reserve also affects the beat rate so if you leave an auto off the wrist for a while, (10 to 20 hours), it can start slowing down. Towards the end of the reserve (usually 30 - 40 hours) this is significant and can result in many seconds per day. I regulate my watches to be worn 24 hours a day so I make a first estimate using clock tuner (Android app) and then wear the watch before fine regulating. Usually they are then between 0 and +5 seconds a day. Even 21j are fairly good.
