I am not a watchsmith

Recommended Posts

LunchMoney

I am clearly not a watchsmith. Shortly after joining RWG, I got my first rep which was a Milgauss. Sadly the dial lume sucked so I eventually purchased a new dial with marginally sucky lume. In the last week I've opened the watch, removed hands and dial. I'm marginally handy with things but my eyesight and patience has got the better of me. I'm stuck there and give up.

My initial reaction is to just toss the POS out and move on.

I thought I'd post here to see if anyone fancies themselves as a watchsmith who might want to give it a crack. No pressure, if you fuck it up, i'm ok with that. If you fix it, I'd be happy to pay you for your time.

Any interest?

I have a new dial & Hands ready for someone to shove on this thing if you are up to it.

I thinks it's somewhere near a large wall just the other side of Mexico?

There is a rep friendly watchsmith in Plano. I don't have firsthand experience, but have heard multiple times that DK Clock Shop does a good job.

I'm definately going to use that watchsmith if a watch breaks or needs a tune up. I think I'd be too embarrased to hand over a bunch of parts and say fix it on my first visit. He has great reviews.
