retromech 0 Posted May 13, 2015 So I wanted a leather strap for my IWC Aquatimer Cousteau. Couldn’t find one so I got a regular 28mm leather strap that tapers. I notched the corners with the help of this tutorial ( ). Also got super sharp scissors to smoothen the cuts on the leather.I did get a couple of cheap straps first to practice how to correctly notch the corners to the contours of the top edge of the lug ends (if you have this watch, you know what I mean). I also replaced the lug bars with spring bars (but I had to find one with thicker, longer bars and fits the 16mm inner distance). So I finally got it done and voila!
