U-Boat ID and Box Hunt

Does anyone know which specific U-Boat model this is based on?

http://v.yupoo.com/p...lbums/31099945/

As far as I know (which is nearly worthless as a guide) the Green Line(?) had several green bits on the dial, but no side view window.

This does not have the green bits, but it does have the side view window.

Am I missing a genuine version that this is copying somewhere?

Thanks!

Now the kicker, does anyone still have it?

The rose gold version seems abundant, but not that one. Not sold on gold yet.

Okay, now I'm getting the impression that the NON-Green Line stainless WITH the side view window isn't a rep of a gen.

The search continues. Dang it.

As an aside, has anyone seen this U-Boat box (papers?) out there? I have found a leather one, in black, but I think that is a quite old version.

I'm an idiot. I've known that for some time, but just for your personal edification.

For those curious, it is likely this. However, on the rep, the reset and the start/stop buttons are incorrectly shaped, and it is missing the winder extractor button that should be between the start/stop chrono button and the screw-down crown. The question, do I want one with three glaring differences, but with the sideview window, or do I want a Green Line without it?

It is not this, though this is an amazing watch.

I think I want to be a billionaire such that these decisions are about pennies vs. several pennies.

Although when the Chimera was launched several online AD listed it with stock photos and stock photos of the black porthole box on the left.

If you look at sales for physical owned Chimera watches they come with the leather case on the right.

If you get the chance buy both, although the brown case makes the correct set. I prefer using the porthole box, great for display.

I can't tell you the correct watch that originally came with the port hole case as I've seen Classico and Thousand feet Gen's being sold with them.

Those both look great, and I would probably buy both, but you're right, that porthole box looks outstanding.

This is nice, but I just don't like it enough to buy it. VERY cheap in comparison to others, though.

Maybe I could get an Omega box, sink it in the ocean for a few weeks, and call it a U-Bo...never mind.

Thank you again.

For those curious, it actually *IS* this.

U-BOAT Chimera 7224 46mm Sideview Chronograph Limited Edition X/300

So far the only tell I see on the rep is that the ref. number on the back is incorrect and the size is sort of incompetently engraved. But that could be just on the one used for pictures.
