PAM 111 : Before i confirm my purchase, need some pro advice!

Ok after much research and narrowing down between a few reputable TDs, i have came to two conclusion which i am really confused between . I will also attach the link of the watch i want. Please take a look !

Ok.. so the watch from KW comes with leather strap while InTime comes with rubber. No big deal as straps can be sourced anywhere.

 

Now i need the real pros to judge. Im generally new to PAM rep and i do not own the real thing nor have i seen one before so im not really sure but when it comes to watches im a real perfectionist especially when it comes to obvious details.

 

I know both watches are great but i read online somewhere that the engraving on the case back / movement are horrible. But i have never seen the real one before so i dont know which is the most accurate to the gen.

 

By the way i tried emailing KW but have not receive any reply. Do they usually take long to reply to emails?

Both are the same watch, same version from the same maker. If it were me, I'd buy the one on rubber for $10 less and have a nice leather strap made by one of the many strap makers on this site. That is the best version around and one of the best reps about at the moment.

Just remember that Intime is not a TD here (they are at RWI, though) and mods here can't help you if something goes wrong

 

Kuvarsit doesn't take PP (AFAIK) but banktransfer worked fine for me when I bought mine

I have been through the Panerai stages: stock noob PAM> Vac Modded PAM> Marlin Modded PAM> GEN Pam.

 

That's where perfectionist gets you in this hobby.

Screw perfection. Owning a gen PAM if I was to buy a Rep now I wouldn't give a shit about version or factory I'd buy what I liked.

InTime is fine, just join at RWI so you have an option to go to the mods if there is an issue. I've never had an issue with Ryan though, one of the best.

Im new to PAM. Just started researching about it. Unlike the submariner noob i have been keeping myself updated since v4 so i roughly know what the upgrades / improvements are as for PAM 111 i have no idea.

 

From what i have read on the forums, the v3 > v4 is merely an upgrade of the incabloc and printing of the "officine panerai" on the movement, or maybe the engraved branding on the backcase. Correct me if im wrong.

 

But i dont really care about that. What are the chances of someone asking you to take it out just to "verify" if its a knock off. Thats pretty childish. Nobody would ever do that to me and secondly Panerai is very common in my country, one could easily afford it with proper job and savings so im not worried about that.

 

All i want is a knock off for me to wear during traveling, adventures and work. Not wanting to wear my gen sub because im too afraid :P

 

So should i just get the v3 since its the same? Unless the v4 has improvement with the case, dial, lume etc that are worth the extra buck that ill might as well go for the v4. I messaged KW (Kuvarsit) and she confirmed with me that the one she sells is the original v4 case not the v3.5

If its cheaper and the only difference is movement decoration then in a perfect world I'd rather buy the cheaper one.

 

You will how in the real world probably find that the actual v3 is sold out so the TD will either;

 

(best case) just send a v4,

 

or ask for the extra money for the v4,

 

or (worst case) just get something that looks similar and hope you don't notice the difference in QC

Firstly, you won't get far here, referring to our collections as "knock-offs". You want that quality, go to any market, and beat them down from $50 to $10. Secondly, if you're looking for something to take a severe beating, and still come up trumps, go for a Seiko Quartz. I would never risk a replica for that sort of action. If it must be a Sub, instead of looking at a mid range replica (the Noob series), buy two Regmariners. Then when you destroy the first, you still have a spare.
