Hello gents,

 

My brother-in-law purchased a rep Breitling Bentley last year when he was deployed in Afghanistan. Recently one of the indices came unglued and fell off. Having some familiarity with the very basics of watch repair, I told him I could help him fix it.

 

In the process, not being aware of the fiddly bits of date-position crown removal, we of course screwed up the keyless works.

 

I've torn the movement down twice in an effort to reset things. This last time I thought I had it fixed, but upon recasing it appears that I'm still a noob. Hands still turn, so that's right, but the stem clutch still does not disengage as it should. Zero position on the stem still changes the time.

 

At this point I determined it would probably be simpler to replace the movement entirely, since I'm guessing sending it out for repair would be unpleasantly expensive.

 

Unfortunately I am having a very difficult time sourcing a new movement. This is the Valjoux 3-6-9 chrono, which I've determined is the 3LZF3-4 thanks to some older threads here.

 

Can anyone point me to the right TD or other source that could help me obtain one of these?

Sounds like the asian version of the Valjoux7753.

 

Some members here might have sources, there are those who repair their own and sometimes others watches. They may have sources. I had a quick look on Ofrei which would be common source for asian movements and parts, but didn't find anything.

 

I know one member had a source on eBay for the 7750 variant, but not sure about the 7753

 

Hopefully one of them will chime in.

Tried to source one my self but no luck, these are rare beasts and all is confusing as many dealer sell the modified 7750 as 7753 (which are 2 different things)...

Best bet for the OP is to get gen 7753 keyless parts and stem and replace them
