VINTAGE ROLEX SUBMARINER 5517 (T) EDITION

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody, this is my first review since i am relatively new within the forum so do not expect anything great :giggle:.

I recently ordered a Rolex submariner vintage 5517, the famous Rolex that every collector in the world would love own. The watch is a very limited edition that was used in 1965 by the British royal navy.

I purchased this beautiful watch by Trevor because he is the only one i managed to find that had a 1:1 replica against genuine since all parts are interchangeable with the genuine, which for me is really important because it shows how accurately and perfectly it has been reproduced.

Here is a brief overview of the watch:

Movement: Asian ETA 2836-2 Automatic movement

Dimensions: 40mm x 13mm

Crystal: Doom plexi plastic

Water resistant

All parts interchangeable with the original.

The watch itself is absolutely fantastic, the bond nato strap is amazing and the building quality of the watch and the attention to the detail is just fantastic. It has to go down as one of the best ( in my opinion the best ever) vintage replica.

The service by trevor has been superb, he showed me all the pictures of the actual watch before shipping it and didnt ship anything until i was fully happy with the product, 1st class guy Trevor, extremely happy.

but lets cut the crap and let me show you this beauty folks :). I APOLOGYSE IN ADVANCE FOR THE QUALITY OF THE PICTURES, I WILL TAKE SOME PROPER ONES VERY SOON

Pictures are pretty bad, but as soon as i have the actual camera ill post some better ones.

Thanks for looking and god bless Trevor, always :-)

Don't listen to Greg. He's only trying to wind you up. When a dealer says a watch is 1:1 you can believe that it is an absolutely true to the original, identical in every way replica..........................apart from the differences of course. Oh and the inaccuracies, and the errors and.........

yeah of course, more than the 1:1, the interchangeable is important, because 1;1 is basically impossible!, Greg is just jealous indeed! :giggle:

They are on sale right now for $10: http://www.broadarrow.net/maratac.htm

Note that to be completely correct Bond wore his 5517 on a 18mm strap

No he isn't. He's pointing out that no rep is 1:1, and that you shouldn't believe everything you read about parts being interchangeable ;)

Bond never wore a 5517 mate. Connery had a 6538, Moore a 5512 and Dalton had a 16610. The strap didn't have metal keepers on Connerys Rolex either ;)

thanks for the interest shown guys but i aint that stupid after all, of course i do know that there is no 1:1 , when i say 1:1 i mean very close to the original and yes, some parts can be exchanged! :)

Some parts, maybe, but not all parts as indicated in the original post. No one is having a dig here, but please don't believe the hype on rep dealers websites. Most of it can be taken with a pinch of salt ;)
