NCRich 13,744 Posted December 28, 2016 So I opened up my first watch and went from wearer to tinkerer a little over a year ago. Learned a lot and have had a blast playing with watches and I don't have to worry so much when something goes south on a watch. I have several other brand watches but Rolex tends to be my favorite so modding vintage Rolex is my hobby. Here is the current vintage Rolex/Tudor box. White Sub 6204 - aged dial, bezel brassed, insert faded, case drilled and shaped. Vintage Milgauss 6541 - aged dial, bezel brassed, insert faded, relumed, case drilled and shaped. PreDaytona Chrono 6234 - Clark plexi Vintage Daytona 6264 - Clark plexi 'nother Daytona 6263 - Clark plexi Pristine 6538 - Low beat swiss eta, Raffles dial, bezel brassed, Athaya crown, case drilled and shaped. Air King 5500 - parts from all over, bezel machined to take Clark Tropic 22 Oysterdate 6694 - Clark plexi 34mm Explorer 5500 - Raffles dial, tiger hands, Clark bezel Space Dweller 1016 - custom dial, tropic 21, drilled lugs and some case shaping. Lower Drawer 1675 - Clark bezel assembly, insert, plexi. Case drilled and reshaped. One of these daze I'll get a new dial and small GMT hand. Think I overaged this as it was my first build. Sub 16610 LV - one of my first watches. It is the watch I have worn more than any other. Tudor fantasy - amalgamation of the parts I personally liked the best at the time. Red triangle, gilt dial, gold hands. One of the few watches I own that people have actually commented on. Blue Snowflake - Low beat swiss eta, Raffles dial, case drilled and shaped, Tropic 39. No CG Snowflake - Low beat swiss eta, Raffles dial, bezel brassed, Athaya crown, case drilled and shaped Tropic 21. PCG 5113 - lot of CG work, case drilled, Tropic 39 plexi. Overdone dial but reversible. I'll clean it and relume when I get tired of this look. Comex - Drilled and CG work, low dome Tropic 19. Completely different look than the Tropic 39. 5517 - Nothing other than lugs drilled and Tropic 39 so far. Trying to figure out the best way to install fixed bars. Any suggestions? 1680 Red - stock so far White 1680 - stock so far So far........ I will post what has been done to each as time permits.

Sailorchadf 0 Posted December 29, 2016 Wow 1 year ago! You've come a long way in a year. And a new moderator too. I got the sticky ball and Amazon lighted visor you recommended, now I've got to pull a stem out and dive in.
Nickfive 4 Posted December 29, 2016 Absolutely stunning mate, best collection I've seen so far! I need me one of those 6263's with a Clark :-)
GenTLe 1,490 Posted December 29, 2016 Lovely. I especially like the vintage milgauss PS: The no crown guard tudor: you should make a bit of countersink so that the Athaya tube screw in more and the crown sits flusher to the case. You can use a 5mm drill to do it (better using a column drill).
NCRich 13,744 Posted December 29, 2016 Thanks gentlemen. Comprehensive collection with all of the key references ticked off Rich......I'm trying to think of any that might be missing? I wonder what 2017 will bring as far as additions are concerned? Maybe a certain white dialed chrono? Wonderful stuff Rich - impressed with your developing skills - have you retired??? best wishes for 2017 - amazing collection! Thanks, I guess in a sense. I am no longer an administrator. Just your humble rank and file. Absolutely stunning mate, best collection I've seen so far! I need me one of those 6263's with a Clark :-) Why yes, yes you do! Lovely. I especially like the vintage milgauss PS: The no crown guard tudor: you should make a bit of countersink so that the Athaya tube screw in more and the crown sits flusher to the case. PBTMN 0 Posted April 4, 2017 Stunning!! I love the 1680 red dial. Could you tell me if it this one is? http://www.intime01.co/rollie/2720-vintage-1680-jkf-best-edition-red-submariner-a2836.html With a vintage relume and a faded bezel it would be awesome, but looks amazing out of the box though.
