What's the correct size of spring bar tools

Recommended Posts

drmdtsap

Hi there. I am a little confused. I went to a shop to buy a spring bar tool, but i realised that there are many with different sizes of forks. What should be the right size for removing a rolex BP classic sea dweller bracelet? The forks are 1.0mm, 1.2mm, 1.4mm, 1.8mm, 2.0mm of sizes.

Bergeon 6111 should do it. I use the 'fine fork' on that.

I've only ever used one size fork (and I use it 40 times a week) and I'd need to mic it to tell you the size but I'd say it's to the smaller end of that lot.

Where can I order HARDY spring bar tool?

My v fork is flattened after 1 use. It's free though when I order the straps from aliexpress

If you go for a 'Bergeon' lookalike get one with the lever fork on the other end. This saves a lot of struggling with leather straps and with buckles

Most of these seem to have 1mm forks on the other end

Though to be honest its academic IMHO

But if you want to go 'Rolls Royce' get the double forked 'pliers' ;)

That's Cool.

Where to get details of them? Buying details, I mean.

I used cheap ones for a while and then bought the Bergeon. The difference is very noticeable and worth every penny, like most tools.

Just search Bergeon spring bar tool on ebay and buy the smallest one.
