Vintage Seamaster Chrono...............

Recommended Posts

MAJ75

Hi All,

Just wanted to share my most recent aquisition & my first "real" Omega.

This is a 1978 Ref 145.029 Seamaster Chronograph yellow gold plated on a bracelet. It is powered by the famous calibre 861 movement that can be found inside Speedmaster/Moon Watches from the same era & onwards.

It certainly carries the battle scars of nearly 40 years faithful service but I love the character & patina that the dial has taken on. I like the fact that it was accompanied by a box & paperwork as well.

It seems to be keeping great time so far & I'm pretty sure I'll swap it onto a vintage leather band for daily use.

A few pictures................

That's a beaut!

This one wasn't picked up cheaply, but certainly at the lower end for this series (particularly with the bracelet, box & paperwork) circa £1500.

It was a price that I thought was reasonable & worth paying.

The chase is at least 60% (probably closer to 80-90%) of the fun...

Nice.

Thanks for sharing your find.

I'm scratching my vintage itch too......................picked up a couple of Omegas, a Rado (see pic earlier today), a Credor and 3 Enicars.

Mine have all been spruced up (refurbished) though, as I'm a picky bastard ^_^ with OCD.
