Dial Sizes for Swap

Recommended Posts

texascat

I just bought this Gen TAG GMT (28mm) dial and would like to put it in a Rolex GMT style watch.

There are two models of this GMT that look identical but one is described as 40mm and the other 43mm.

I assume they are just Sterile Dial NOOB or BP so I was hoping someone might know the dial sizes based on this description.

Is there a tolerance on dial sizes? For example 27mm to 29mm fit in a certain case, or are the dial sizes exact?

There's some wiggle room.

I think the dial for the typical GMT IIc case is 29mm.

Thank's for the info! Wiggle room is what I was hoping to hear.

I think I'll go ahead and order this watch. Maybe there will be enough wiggle room to make it work.

It fit without too much effort but the date wheel did not line up. Maybe I'll try to find the TAG date wheel that goes with the dial...

I had hell working with my Parnis GMT 2 hands. For whatever reason, the second hand has up and decided it will not ever go onto the pinion ever again despite numerous tries. Ordered a new set of hands and the second hand from the new set won't go on either. All I can assume is I screwed something up - part of learning.
