and now for something completely different .

Starting out on the long and complicated road of building my own Pam Homage watches I have several on the go , but I recently got side tracked , when I decided I would like something a bit different , not hooked up on the (even Panerai could tell the difference) builds , though I envy those with the skill and time to make those awesome builds ,I just wanted something different to what others were doing ,so I set about fathoming out ,how to print (accurately) directly to a dial, from an inkjet printer, a long and complicated process to work out the right coatings for the dial to take the ink , and working out sizes and rotation ,to get the same repeatable results. first up I wanted a picture dial , and as it was to be a Pam ,I thought I would make use of the picture on the front of a Panerai book . a couple of months on , and probably a fair few failures , and a lot of tweaking I finally have a dial ,that's stable and ready for my build , the pics below show it in the case , but I have not decided what movement to use so its just in its mock-up stage ,but apart from the lume is ready to use .

below that is another printed dial , a photoshopped version of an aged "Cali" dial ,that's in a new build and apart from polishing the case and a set of hands(cant make my mind up on hand colour) is near done .

this is in no way my attempt to compete with the "big boys" but just a bit of fun along the way .

feel free to flame me ,my skin has been desensitized since starting this project.

That Cali dial looks really good, and I like how the top Submarine dial sits. Nice work on both for sure!

Both very nice dials. I would be very interested in a few details of how you printed them please.
