Gen bezel on latest noob GMT IIc

Recommended Posts

boneyjr

I have the latest Noob GMT IIc incoming along with an entire gen bezel assembly, and I was curious if anyone has any personal experience performing this mod. I have done a little research and the opinion seems a little mixed on this: some say its easy; others say its problematic.

Could anyone offer me some advice (or maybe offer to do it for me)? Thanks!

Here is a picture of the gen parts I have incoming:

You're missing one part in that pic.

Yup, you are missing the crystal retainer, this is a notched part which fits over the crystal, and the notched circumference works with that three pronged spring you have, which in turn gives the notched feedback when rotating your bezel.

On this notched missing part, a nylon ring fits onto it this nylon ring retains your bezel assembly on the watch.

Difficult to tell if this notched crystal retainer is in your photo, unless thats it upside down centre bottom of the photo?

I will post more pics when I get the parts. But assuming that part isn't there, is there a work around?

On the rep, that part is integral to the case. That's one of the reasons why the gen bezel won't work without some modifications to the case.

I know proud owners have posted pics of their gen bezels on rep cases, but I really doubt they work properly. At least I don't know a way to make it happen.

I have held many watches that photograph well and someone bought them M2M only to have functions not work, they fall apart, or something else goes wrong as a result of the hack mod.

Man.... consider my bubble burst. Well, no guts no glory. We shall see what happens.

Thanks for the input, Chris. I will keep you in the loop about the part.

That's gonna look great on your watch. What did those parts run you? As hobbyist, this info is critical to plan our next project. ;)

Center top is the part in question. Turns out Boneyjr has it, it just didn't look like it in the photo.

What you're probably missing is a case that will accept the ring, gasket and crystal.
