hwlexus 0 Posted May 24, 2017 Hi, new with Pam watch. I received my new KW Pam 417 yesterday. Wind the crown about 50 times and power reserve only lasted about 19.5 hours. People telling me I can wind crown till I feel resistance and then stop. I was told that the movement 6497-2 can achieved at least 50 to 60 hours of power if fully wound. Can someone tell me how many times should I turn crown to achieve maximum power and won't damage the gears. Thanks for help

As long as you wind gently, there shouldn't be any issues with taking it to full.
Kleen™ 45 Posted May 24, 2017 I have not counted turns, but you can wind it right to the 'full mechanical stop', which will make my KW417 run for approximately two full days..
hwlexus 0 Posted May 25, 2017 Thanks guys. I've winded the Pam 417 about 100 turns (not full turn but to 12 o'clock) yesterday morning and it's already over 37 hours and still going.

Not exactly sure what you mean by 'to 12 o'clock', but as long as it works out better for you, you're doing something right... PS: The mechanical stop is very easily felt, so do not be afraid to overwind unless you put a LOT of force into your winding force...which is totally unneccessary...:)
hwlexus 0 Posted May 26, 2017 Kleen, watch stops at 39 hours. Rewind this morning till unable to wind any further. Hope to get more than 39 hours. Will report soon

hwlexus 0 Posted June 18, 2017 Have been running my 417 for the last 3 weeks now. Very impressed with the accuracy and power reserve. The average power reserve is between 57-58 hours. Looking forward to buy another Pam with 6497-2 movement.
