_DC_ 218 Posted November 25, 2016 I've put the new 5205 on a decent strap (RIOS rather than Camille Fournet for now, will get a CF one eventually) and thought I'd post some wrist porn of it. Ok, so it's got fake day and month apertures, but at least the dial is balanced. And the case, THAT CASE!!! It is simply stunning, and wears beautifully with real wrist presence! It's 41mm but wears like a 40mm thanks to a nicely sculpted sloping bezel and compact lugs... What do you guys think of this super curvy case?!? DC
Gmtaddict 1 Posted November 25, 2016 Splendid! I tried the Gen and was very impressed by it, looks like yours has the same quality.

Phantomtech 4 Posted November 25, 2016 Looks stunning! Love the tall bezel, really gives it a lot of presence. What do you mean by fake date aperture, is it always going to say the wrong date?
_DC_ 218 Posted November 25, 2016 Looks stunning! Love the tall bezel, really gives it a lot of presence. What do you mean by fake date aperture, is it always going to say the wrong date? The date at 12 works (which is essential for me as I use the date every day in my job) but the day always reads Saturday and the month always reads March, they can't be changed either automatically or manually. I wasn't sure at first, I thought it would drive me nuts, but they're so small unless you properly hold it up to your face you don't notice it! DC

I don't even wanna know what the gen costs! Stunning case design though and really suits the polished finish. Must get a Patek at some point but reckon I'll opt for the handsome piece in your sig. _DC_ 218 Posted November 25, 2016 Damn Im so surprised they actually repped this! How does the moonphase function work and look like? It's basically a day and night indicator, but looks good, no cheesy smiley sun or anything, just a plain grey sun and grey crescent moon with some white stars! chase0224 0 Posted November 25, 2016 Ill have to pick this up eventually, i love grey moonphases!
HPoirot 0 Posted November 25, 2016 That means when you wear that, it's literally always Saturday. Great watch!

But always March can fuck off my birthday is in March and I'm not aging a year everytime I wear t
Mr. Genesis 0 Posted November 26, 2016 Absolutely beautiful! I'm glad they did the fake fonction. I always thought it would be better putting not working fonction but Gen looking, than compromising the look of the watch by trying to make everything fonctionnal. Congrats! Time bandit 40 Posted November 28, 2016 Josh explained that the day/date works with watch movement and the month needs to be set manually, date goes to 31 via movement then adjusted manually back to 1 etc depending on the days in the month. Pandas listing explains most functions are faux, slightly confusing !!
_DC_ 218 Posted November 28, 2016 For 100% sure the day of the week and month can't be changed, when you look close you can see they are not separate wheels but fixed, and there are four recessed pushers but none of them do anything. As is often the case Josh is mistaken and Tim is correct!! The date at 12 o'clock works like the date on any other rep, needs adjusting on any month with less than 31 days!! Time bandit 40 Posted November 28, 2016 I thought it sounded to good to be true, still want a 5130 ss , i paid tim for one but the dial markers 1 to 12 are not lined up properly,he's tried a few now so options to buy dfferent watch or refund , rg black dial 5205 sounds the best but I've a new gen pp strap brown Croc waiting so rg cream dial also tempting me, Looked at my pp 2016 catalogue and was amazed at the 5205 comparables , 11 watches in 3 months now I now why there's m2m Thanks for your great posts patek forever
Brendan777 0 Posted December 13, 2016 Awesome piece, I just ordered the same one from PC and they said all functions work except the month which needs to be set once a month. Still haven't received it yet, but I hope what they say is true. Now I am looking even more forward to it!

What they say is not true I'm afraid, only the date is changeable, but honestly I haven't even noticed, on the wrist the apertures appear so small!! Time bandit 40 Posted December 14, 2016 DCS correct, josh told me the same , its not true , but the windows are so small it's hard to read and doesn't bother me at all, trying to get a pp black grey stitch strap for mine, and not for the purist , the tang buckles great especially dress watches, but deployant clasps are for me I'll be fitting one, as the watch goes with any attire, and with that deep dial and curvy bezel it's thicker Enjoy it A thing of beauty

_DC_ 218 Posted December 14, 2016 I'll probably end up going deployant on mine too, I've got one laying around somewhere but need the right size strap for one which I currently don't have. I actually quite like this one on a buckle though, but agree that black with grey stitch is the way to go, I'll be hitting up my man Sebastién over at Camille Fournet in the new year for this and my 5396 (glossy black for that one)! Time bandit 40 Posted December 14, 2016 You've probably already tried this , 21x16 original pp strap 18mm deployant, the higher up the hole side strap you go the tighter the clasp goes (obviously tapered strap), about 17mm so not perfect but woks for me and pp emblem still centred under wrist ok, I've not got big wrists but your old CF strap fits me well on 5070g on left wrist, my right wrist is 1/2" thicker than left but we won't go into that, lol can't wear on right wrist feels weird Even the gen pp straps arnt as nice as CF
