epalanb 1 Posted April 4, 2017 Hi Guys, I am trying to decide between these two: IWC Aquatimer Cousteau 43 x 15 and the Longines Master Chronograph Moonphase YLF version (42 x 15) It seems like everyone likes the Longines, but I don't see much about the IWC. Anyone have the IWC and can offer an opinion or even if you don't have it you can offer an opinion. Thanks
Kleen™ 45 Posted April 4, 2017 Simpler is better. Imo. So; IWC...;)
Daywatch 4 Posted April 4, 2017 Mine is the 2008 Cousteau Aquatimer "A tribute to Calypso" and I love it for 3 years now. A7750 with secs at nine. All functions inclusive inner bezel work fine. The white looks ok although on the pictured one there seem to be misalignments (4&5; 10&11 o´clock)
Lukus_91 0 Posted April 5, 2017 IWC is the one to get IMO.

dilip 0 Posted April 5, 2017 Defiantly go for the longines. The aquatimer has a weird way to strange straps and you'll have troubles finding aftermarket straps
ryaku 3 Posted April 5, 2017 2 completely different watches, hard to choose I would take the discontinued Aquatimer, as Daywatch suggested
GenTLe 1,485 Posted April 5, 2017 I've this one and love it (got it used, and had to service it and fix a couple of problems, but now it works wonderfully), and no problem with the strap, being on bracelet.
JSJ 0 Posted April 5, 2017 The Cousteau is a great watch. I have the blue and yellow one. Couldn't use a white on white watch but that's personal taste. I use my watches to tell the time.

Do you mean white hands on white dial and that it would be hard to read the time? Edited April 6, 2017 by epalanb

Kernow 33 Posted April 6, 2017 I've this one and love it (got it used, and had to service it and fix a couple of problems, but now it works wonderfully), and no problem with the strap, being on bracelet. Stunning watch. I do like Cousteau but the rubber strap always puts me off. Now this IS nice. Wear in good health.
