(Help) : Omega PO 007 Skyfall--Miyota Movement Loose Second Hand!!!

Recommended Posts

Omeg@007

Hi Everyone,

I have an issue just when pulling the Crown to adjust timing, The Second hand get loose. but when i adjust the time and put the crown back, everything is normal and nothing is loose. The Second hand sweeps nicely and keeps time very well.

I made a video showing the loose Hand.

My Concern is:

1)- Is this a bad sign?

2)- Will it affect the time in the coming days?

3)- is it necessary to fix it?

Please throw what you have of advises :)

File Name: Myiota Mov.

Cheers

Hmm, the seconds hand should continue to run when the crown is pulled with this movement.

Not sure about a fix though, sorry mate.

Genius

Don't know if it is particuyularly an issue

The miyota 8xxx movements are a pretty low end auto and that is pretty much par for the course.

Why the fuck they put a budget movement in a high end rep I'll never understand

I dont think its the second hand that is moving as such. Its your movement. Im not sure that there is too much you can do but to try and secure the movement inside the case. By losening the crown you are simply making the movement less stable inside the case

Indeed. I have gone through the watch and inspect the hands and everything seems to be on place. It is the movement which cause it to act wired...

Yes sir!...Agree!...

Cos if the hands are loose then it will sweep all the time.

Another Question. Does this mean that the crown will pop out of its place on repeatedly pull-out?

If the watch is going and you can set the time, just live with it. Like gavmeister says, if you can, find a way to fix the movement. Maybe there's a tab loose. Yours won't be the first or last movement to be held securely by screwing in the crown.

Welcome to reps.

By the way, please note my member title. I have no idea what it means but I like it.

I doubt it's anything to do with that. But you can certainly pull the stem out if you work hard enough at it. Then the watch will be fucked.

No, it shouldnt. The crown is usually locked in place and there is either a small lever or a pin that needs to be depressed in order to extract the crown from the movement.

True, would require a fair amount of determination and abuse. More likely is that the crown will come off the stem or break somewhere inside the movement! Then your diagnosis will be spot on. Lol

the problem come from a contact with the minutes hand if it bother you you have to open it and move up or down the seconds hand, if it doesn't bother you much then don't touch it because it doesn't bring any other problem

you're welcome, i forgot to say that you better rotate the hands in the normal way not back rotating (sorry for my english) it can make this weakness more important if you use to rotate back for long time
