Herzog Heinrich XVII

A. Lange Sohne 1815

Recommended Posts

Herzog Heinrich XVII

First off, I would like to say hello to everyone on the RWG forum as it is my first post. =)

As a fore warning I did not buy this watch to try and pass it off as a real Lange, I bought it because I do not have 19k to drop on one. =P

Now lets move on to the review.

This watch cost me $100 with EMS Shipping, and arrived in 10 days. Very pleasant experience with TImeshops. :D

Pictures:

The three things for me that make this watch not close to genuine are:

1. Bigger than Gen

2. The Half Six is missing underneath the second hand circle.

1815_02.jpg

3. It says made in Switzerland on the movement when Lange Sohne is Made in Germany.

If anyone has any knowledge that these are false just let me know and I will fix them. =P

If you have any questions feel free to ask, and I will be uploading some wrist shots once I get some more time.

That is it for me today, thanks for reading!

Even with it's flaws, it's a pretty nice looking watch. Love the decorated movement.(Mistakes and all)

Wear her in good health ;)

The seconds sub-dial on the rep has number markings, the gen don't.

My Lange says hi.

Also a lot of flaws, but I like it.

Yep - lots of flaws, but who's going to know? Very pretty watch - especially for the price. Enjoy it! :D

yes echo everyone else, flaws don't matter as they aren't major, also who's to challenge that some model has subdial numbers actually on it etc

you will be pushed probably to find someone who has heard of the brand..

what a cracking piece for the money, bargain and complete class looking watch...... it really is!

I'm after a moonphase version, or I would have one of these..... still might $100!!!!!

enjoy...

I have bought several Langes in Beijing and have never had a problem with any of them. Other watches just stop running or the stem falls off or the minute hand will start to free wheel but never with the Langs.

Even if it has flaws, it's still a beautiful watch in itself. Sometimes the reps provide a sense of fantasy that one would never see in a gen. I wouldn't worry about people recognizing it's flaws. I'm German and even most Germans do not know A. Lange & Söhne, nevermind Glashütte. Enjoy it mate and welcome!

Nice!

No one will call you out on it since they'll not know the brand. Even if they know the brand, they will likely not know the style nuances. As long as things aren't overly crooked, nobody will care :)

My fantasy cheapie fantasy ALS says hi!

the correct 1:1 version is here but more expensive

As a first post this isn't a good start. Read the noobs section and introduce yourself.

As for your link..........

That's not a TD listed here so I most definitely WON'T be shopping there. I don't care how

good their reps look. Also, their prices are insulting. Total scam site asking almost double for

the exact same stuff we get. Swiss movements are also a blatant lie.

I think the half 6 on the gen makes it look like a cheap rep
