Strap Lining Colours (POLL)

Strap Lining Colours

  1. 1. What colour linings would you like to see

All,

I am having a dilemma about what colours to buy in for strap linings, at the moment I am seeing the lining a bit like a suit lining it should be bright and loud.

I can't help feeling while black is the staple and it works for just about everything, it is a little boring.

So what better way to find out than ask the community what they would like to see.

Certain colour combinations will never work, I just want to get a feel for the colours people would like to see

Please vote and whatever is the winner I will order in.

How many do we choose mate?

Well, in my view it depends from the strap colour. The tan or even a browner orange should suit fine with black straps, the navy with blue ones, etc

Depends on the watch but with these lovely customs straps I can't help but think it should be loud, navy or orange etc!

I agree, the watch plays a part and matching highlights can be important, but I am coming around to loud as well.

I have some suits with very loud linings and i love them

Current strap lining I've ordered is red for a black strap :D I agree like a suit the lining can be as loud as you like !

I like the idea of a loud lining. As with suits it shouts bespoke. I think it depends on the strap and the watch. If the watch had a tiny amount of a bright colour, say one line of text or hour markers, it would be cool to repeat it on the strap lining.

Santoni made the orange lining into an immediately recognizable trademark-- both for their shoes and their straps. Hard to argue with Italian design excellence. Orange lining for the darker colored straps; tan for lighter colors.

Green and orange for me. A flash of a cheeky bright colour under the strap would look great!

Lots of sharp colors. Black is a go to.

I will order in some orange to see how it sells if successful I will order in the next two popular colours.

Well that's awkward, it's exactly the thought I had about using loud linings, something to differentiate my work

Orange for sure. I have lots of blue dial watches and orange is a perfect complement.

Voted.

My vote goes to Orange and Green.

I quite agree that the lining should give a contrast to the strap and stitching colours.

Personal choice really, as it's unlikely anyone is going to see the lining showing through when the watch is being worn.

BTW Kerr, Congrats on reaching Trusted Status - you deserve it.

Example of a strap mad by MDK for my Ediface can be seen here;-

Go with something that can match every colour you make. Go loud on special request

I'm using a tan/orange (like santoni a bit) for all my straps now or some lighter tan and dark brown, depending on the leather on top. They age well and have that classy feel

I love colorful backing.

Gives a hint of color without being too in-your-face.
