Noob v BP Sub Blue Wrapped Two Tone ?

Recommended Posts

trotter

Can anyone tell me why theres a $200 / $300 price difference ? Apart from the movement Noob coming in at $560 TO $720 (Depending on movement) and BP coming in at around $930. Also any opinions as to more gen like or better qualities. Thanks

I believe the $930 watch is wrapped with 15-20 mils of real 18kt gold.

yeah i presume thats the BP quite expensive for an extra 5 mils compared to the Noob .I wonder which is most like the Gen ,surely there must be other differences can anyone shed anylight on the comparison

15-20 mils? Three quarters of an inch?

Microns, perhaps?

CASE MATERIAL: Solid 316F stainless steel, 18K Champagne Wrapped Gold to 10-15 mils thick

BRACELET: Brushed YG/SS New Style Oyster Bracelet with Insignia Single Foldover Clasp, Serial number inscribed on end links (18K Wrapped Gold to 10-15 mils thick and midlinks are covered on the sides with Gold)

This is from Trusty Times, its $688 for a blue or black two tone sub.

Some watches they state 15-20 mils

If both watches were priced the same what would your choice be?

I would not buy a gold rep, period. The wrapped are better, but all it takes is one scratch to reveal the base metal and your watch is worthless. Also, Rolex only uses 18 k gold so I've seen comparison threads and the gold tone is not always accurate. Better to franken a stainless steel model with gen parts for the money.

I've had the bp 116613 $950 version and I took one of the links off and used A fine sand paper to reveal the thickness of the gold

It just looked plated with the sides plated to

The noob $650 version has thick wrapped links but you can see the steel on the sides of end links and links

I thick you would have to look closely to see it though

The next one I buy will be the noob

I just bought a BP Ultimate 116613 with A2836 movt. love the watch, trying to be extra careful with the bracelet. It'll probably end up being on a leather or rubber strap soon, if I don't find a gen bracelet I'm happy with. with the A2836 my dealer had it for $360. I think he also has an A3135 for $570.
