Excellent source of info to compare your rep's clasp codes & serials to, to determine what year your specific model is supposed to be. :)

Here, you can also find out just how to translate their numbering system for each model. For instance (from the site), the last digit of the model reference code is used to indicate the type of construction material. This is accurate for model references having 5 digits. With the older model references using four digits, another further number following a diagonal stroke was added, e.g. 5513/0 for a submariner in steel. For reference numbers of bracelets this final digit construction material identification is also used. Here are the construction material codes for the casings and bracelets:

0 solid steel

1 solid yellow gold

2 solid white gold or steel with platinum highlights

3 solid steel with yellow gold highlights

4 solid steel with white gold highlights

5 gold plated or 18k red gold

6 solid platinum

7 solid 14k yellow gold

8 solid 18k yellow gold

9 solid 18k yellow gold

You can also find out about the difference between tritium & superluminova, and what years of manufacture incorporated which. There's also some nice wallpapers there of some mint vintage subs, and a few other models.

Enjoy.

Hmmm, my gen 1987 168000 must have had the clasp replaced in 1995...

Hmmmmm

This may not be so accurate after all.

I recently visited a Rolex AD to look at a two tone DDII. According to this it should have a line under the crown as it is steel and yellow gold and both have a line. However it had two dots as if it was white gold.

Anyhow the rep is wrong as it has hallmarks on the case which the original does not have.

Which AD sells two tone Day-date?

I am guessing any Gen Rolex Authorised Dealer ;) but as for Trusted Dealers, you are best to email them with a picture of what you want :)

I mean.....have you ever seen a two tone Day-date at any AD?

Just YG, WG, RG or platinum.

The only multi colored DD I know of is the 18239b.

He was a dick to a lot of people 5 years ago when he posted that. He won't see your post since he exiled himself.

Holy fucking necro-bump

Working on your 50 posts to sell the crap you got from Perfect watches?

Good luck with that, you'll not make 50 anyway after at least one of your recent posts
