Just broke my rep and AP cherry!

So I've been a member of this forum for some time now but will openly admit I've never ordered a single watch, however I've acquired amazing knowledge about watches through all the interactions with the fine members of this board. My motivations for never buying were a mixture of financial instability, impatience and a bit of fear. I can without a doubt say that my fascination was always with AP and that I've wanted a Royal Oak ever since seeing them in Entourage.

Fast Forward 5 years later, I'm doing a lot better, know a lot more about watches and my AP obsession is getting tense haha. I work in a 5 star superior luxury hotel in Berlin and so I see a plethora of luxury watches on a daily basis, though youd be surprised how many people wear replicas. Ive also seem some pretty intense watches worn by Gulf royalty (Qatar, Emirates, etc.) that are truly mesmerising in person. Seeing so much luxury on a daily basis also means you appropriate yourself a bit (though always within reason as I am by no means wealthy or even well-off), thus wearing good suits is an important aspect of my job because you get taken a lot more seriously. Next to watches menswear is my second hobby. The only thing missing was a good watch.

I rewatched Entourage and was fiending for an AP. Luckily for me, after missing a few opportunities, a lovely member over at RWI posted the perfect 15400 and I took the opportunity immediately. It was a super exciting experience to be buying my dream watch and not have to worry about Chinese shipment or customs. Additionally the watch was modded (gen-like AR, polished rehaut, cleaned dial and movement, etc.), included all links, though the bracelet was already sized perfectly and came with a bezel protector which I thought was a great addition. I'm not picky and thus slight imperfections (though I couldnt find any at first glance) don't bother me because its roughly about Gerald Gentas design and not the status symbol of owning an AP. 2 days later the watch was delivered to me and I was absolutely blown away by the quality of this watch. My girlfriend was a bit skeptical about replica watches though she is super supportive of everything yet when I showed her a picture she could not believe it.

This is JF 15400 in blue dial with a Miyota 9015 which has been oiled and serviced as well. I really need to commend JF for their craftsmanship. People talk so much shit about reps but seriously don't understand how well made some reps are. So further bla bla bla aside here she is:

I am really very, very happy and though this will definitely not be the last rep I buy, especially now that I am convinced of the quality, I have satisfied a longing I have had for a very long time. Also can we talk about how amazing Samsung S7 cameras are??

Love, light and watches.

Dammit you're making me want one even more! And yes I love my Samsung's camera, though as I am getting more into photography I am starting to realize its downfalls.

Which dealer did you go with?

I'd do it, these are really stunning watches and I have had quite a few gens in my hand. Obviously does not have the finish of a gen but my god these are amazing. I bought it M2M over at RWI from a great member called tinitonsi. Went over to RWI because the M2M section was looking a bit bleak here and was seriously obsessing over this thing. Cheers mate.

For blog photos I use a Nikon D3100 and my gf has a D7100. Were thinking about getting a digital though because Panasonic and Olympus have been putting out some banging cameras...

Genius

Having seen the blue jf in person I adroit is an awesome watch, even without mods I couldn't at wrist distance tell it from the $20k gen. Modded I'm sure it's excellent

Watch looks awesome, I want one now! :) Just a thought unrelated to the watch though, I think you might save a lot in utility bills if you move your fridge away from the stove ;)

Haha cheers but so far my utility bills have been just fine. Things are a bit different here in Germany. Might consider moving him though :=)

Excellent choice! I went with the JF 15450 because of my small wrists but essentially the same watch. Enjoy!

I love that JF's crystal on the AP reps is good enough to not need a 2xAR treatment (not that 2xAR necessarily makes it gen-like). Nice watch!

My AP and rep cherry broke with an AP ROO Bumblebee from JF :)

Agreed that JF crystal is great BUT the Double AR on this really does make the dial pop and is great on this particular blue version.

I agree, but my problem is that this makes it distinctly un-gen-like. While I haven't experienced it first hand, some folks on RWI said that the prof crystal - while making the dial pop - was much easier to scratch. To be fair, Prof did offer to do 1x AR on the inner side alone if that's what I wanted as well.

To me its important that the watch looks great and appeals to me. Whether the gen has less AR is absolutely irrelevant to me because it isn't gen and isn't supposed to be gen. In the case of the rep I think the 2xAR really just makes the watch look even more spectacular. I've had quite a few gen APs in my hands and honestly the majority of AP owners wouldn't know the difference anyway, yet alone what sapphire crystal is or 2xAR. The watch sweeps and looks amazing, thus I'm a happy camper. I have a huge amount of respect for people who go into the details but I honestly never understood the nitpicking, though I assume it is essentially the next step in this hobby. I just don't like being driven mad by details haha.
