Hey!

I've had this for 7 or 8 months I think.

Did not want to post a thread until it worked perfectly - Now I'm confident that it does.

This watch has had a troublesome start. I bought it sometime before December, and wore it on a freezing winter week when I got it. That very same week, the watch startet "stuttering" and stopping on occasion. A good slap on the side of the case would always "jerk" it and get it going again.

Finally, the jerk stopped working. The watch was dead.

Now what? Do I just send it back and wait for two-three months for a new one..? Or do I attempt a risky repair?

I ended up sending it to our very own watchsmith, Nick. I figured, a new watch would be just as prone to breaking as this one.

He agreed to work in this unstable sh*te movement, and I shipped it off. For a few weeks, or even months (I don't even remember anymore) it was being repaired. Finally, I got a mail saying it was ready for delivery again.

At this time, I had arranged for a proper customs clearance with export papers and invoices at the ready (Replicas are by definition allowed in Norway, with a few exceptions). However, it got stopped in the customs and was damn near seized. Luckily, I'm good with words (when I want to) and had it cleared. I had to tax the cost of the repair, but everything else was fine.

A few weeks ago, the rotor came loose. (I don't blame anyone, it was an easy fix). I'll throw in some pictures from that event as well :)

This is a BIG watch, and I am a skinny fella.

However, I find that certain shirts and blazers suits it very well. (It's not a t-shirt kind of watch for a skinny dude like me)

Hope I have better luck with mine, I might ship it off straight away for a service when it arrives...

Looks great (even on your skinny wrist)

Beautiful watch hoping one day these watches will be offered from factories with the mod so they last little longer

I can highly recommend getting it serviced - Remember that these movements are (most likely) put together by fruit salesmen or even kids who works solely on instructions.

That makes them very varying in quality - A watchmaker will properly lube and allign everything :)

It's still hard for me to spend $500-$700 on these Ap but they seem worthy

I bought the NF version - I believe it's somewhere around 400$?

Then I got it serviced for 130£.

Same price as the high end ones, but (most likely) much more reliable.

Can anyone recommend a strap for this?

I need a strap which I can tighten in one extra notch. My skinny ass wrists is the issue here :p

The optimal one would be a similar rubber strap with one extra notch, but I’m open ti anything.

A couple of small punches and an exacto knife should do the job

Beautiful watch. I can’t seem to find it with the back window open. Where did you find it online?

Thanks.

This is the NF-version of the watch.

Can't have tried hard then. The majority of these have open casebacks. I think only the quartzies have closed backs: http://www.ttw-1388.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=241_243&products_id=13661

For me, the only think that ought to be done, is a 2 X AR mod (Steve´s crystals are gorgeous).

See my AP BlackThemes...
