Nnilswerdna 5 Posted April 28, 2017 Fellas, I’ve got bored of having money in the bank and I’m going to buy a gen for the first time in a long time (my last being a Grand Carrera in my early 20’s – you live and learn) So, I flip watches all the time and will probably only have for a couple of months but wondering if I can get this for around the £2,700 - £2,800 mark, would this be a good deal? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272631977366?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Set aside my gen checklist requirements (un-reppable, visible movement, history) I’m thinking more about the potential resale and not losing on it. Have any of you have a nightmare reselling a gen? Is 2.7k or 2.8k a good deal for this Speedy? Ta folks.

deju 1,861 Posted April 28, 2017 Personally I would only buy on a bracelet and I prefer hessalite crystal to the sapphire. I beleive it's rare to get a display caseback and hessalite crystal. But you can get a preik custom caseback so best of all worlds. I think that the speedmaster is a grail gen love it a lot. They are climbing in value. Newer models (excluding snoopy) I don't think are climbing as fast.

James. 4 Posted April 28, 2017 I'd pass. If you want a speedy and thats your budget your options are a new black dial version on bracelet or a early 90's/late 80's model with tritium markers which you would preferably buy with bracelet and can also wear on a strap. Or pay about 1k £ moreish and get the latest Basel speedy or earlier, cooler vintage model which gets exponentially more expensive the earlier you get. Brown dial and sapphire a speedy doesn't make
