Opinions on scam.store?

Recommended Posts

This looks like a great site: dtime.store

Has anybody purchased from them?

One nice aspect of this site is they "rate" or "grade" the replicas...

They do have informational material too, for example, this one

dtime.store/blog.php?blog=general-comparison-rolex-116610ln-noob-v7-vs-v6s

which clearly explains the often argued topic of the fonts.

Admin edit: Active link to scam site disabled.

My guidance is to stick with the forums TD they are trusted for a reason. I would be very careful if buying from an unknown site.

Is there a specific reason why you put this under "Scam"?

You could try them and let us know how it went or you could stay safe and use the TD's in here...

Those 'grades' is like to ask a restaurateur to rate his own wines...

No...just no. If it can't be bothered to read the new member posts about these exact scam sites, this hobby is not for you.

 You're just determined to get someway to have the reps rated. Love their gradings, "Best Clone 1:1", "Clone 1:1", "Modded" etc. because that gives such reassurance.....Knock yourself out and be sure to let us know how you get on.

Ask a waiter what dish they would recommend haha.

Why yes sir, we are struggling to shift the fish, so I would suggest that.

Send them your money and report the result back over here, only don't cry when you are scammed.

Thanks for replies. I thought "scam" was the most appropriate section to ask the question. I dont think there is a "is this dealer legit?" section in this forum :giggle:

On a different topic, closer to scam, I made my first purchase through a TD. All went great/excellent. Except, TD sent me a QC photo which shows 0s/d but watch actually runs fast 8s/day. Asked TD and he came back "I only guarantee accuracy to 10s/d and that is the official Swiss Standard.". If watch ran fast/slow 12s/d he would have come back with "I only guarantee 15s/d ..."

How would more experienced members deal with this? Derate the TD a notch and look for another? Just sweep it under the rug? Or give him another chance?

If you think a rep watch having an 8 second per day accuracy is 'closer to a scam' (your words) this hobby is not for you. If you think that some other site rating their own watches offers more insight than this community.. this hobby is not for you..

Hmm - what accuracy would you say will suffice from a rep?

It is just a matter of expectations.

I will post pictures of the watch in the review section at a later time. Havent figured out how to attach pictures yet.

Other than accuracy, it is indeed an excellent product in my opinion. I would have been fine with accuracy too, if it was not mis-represented....

The watch was not 'mis-represented' as you state. The TD offered to test the watch for accuracy, and included that with your QC pictures, which is something many TD's do not do. For a replica made in some shoddy underground operation, with vastly underpaid employees, using god-knows-what kind of outdated equipment, with Asian clone movements made in similar shoddy conditions, +8/s a day is absolutely spectacular. You will find genuine watches running over more than that daily. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but if this is as big of an issue as you are making it seem, get out of this hobby now before you have a heart attack when you receive a dead or broken watch

Hahaha. Ok RepGuy ... noted. But couldnt the TD have given me the true measurement?

I am in full appreciation of the hardworking workers who produce these in unenviable work environments. The mechanics/form-factor is indeed excellent. NOOB factory product,.

But, shouldnt TD's be "trusted"? Shouldnt they send inaccurate accuracy results?

I am of the preference that every watch/clock I have cross 12 to the exact second (eyeball method of measurement). This is true for the radio controlled clocks and cell/gps controlled devices. Of course, even a gen product wont match this criterion.

But I do really like the mechanical time instruments though.... Therefore I am on this forum. And questioning.

No - please don't let us know - because actually we already know the outcome.

Actually we already DO HAVE that section....It's called our Trusted Dealer Section.

We are spoiled in the fact we are able to purchase illegal products (reps) from the comfort of our homes, and in a few weeks these reps show up at our doorsteps. The TD's are not a legitimate company like Target or Whole Foods, but are instead small operations of people willing to take risks to sell these watches for profit. Honestly, these people are not obligated to offer any kind of after sale support, or even to supply QC pictures due to the nature of the industry. We are lucky to have a solid group of TD's who go the extra mile with after sale support, QC pictures, and honest descriptions of products to the best of their knowledge. If the TD sent you a QC picture of your watch at +0/s a day, I believe that was probably the actual reading at the time. Many factors come into accuracy, such as angle, temperature, and even the motion of your wrist throughout the day. This whole thread is basically you bashing the TD for sending you a watch that runs slightly fast, but still well within the normal range even for Swiss movements. Yes, the TD's are trusted, and have sold to/helped literally thousands of members over the years, and for you to repeatedly complain about a mere +8/s a day reading is crazy. Have you tested this on your own machine, or simply eyeballed it yourself? It may come off as harsh, but my previous statement stands... This hobby might not be for you.

gavmeister, I dont want to identify the trusted dealer and post in TD section until members of this board think it is appropriate. The feeling I get is I am too stringent in my expectations... Feedback is what I ask for :suck:

Thanks repguy, for your detailed reply. I understand. Note, I have not disclosed the TD. Just asking as newbie. Need to adjust expectations.

That's a big part of this hobby. Nothing will be 100% identical to the gen. As long as you keep that in mind, and accept the rep for what it is, a copy, you'll have a much smoother and more enjoyable experience.

Also important to note that shipping (and bouncing) halfway across the world and being subject to any number of magnetic source along the way could certainly impact your watches accuracy by more than 8 sec/day...

This.

Plus you need to know that mechanical watches can be regulated (differently from quartz that are generally more precise but if you got a bad one you can't really do anything).

Reading about timegrapher results would be a very good investment, as would reading about accuracy in mechanical watches.

Having enough knowledge to read the screen of a timegrapher but not knowing that you can't translate that into real world results will lead to disappointment.

I can assure you that right now your complaints about an 8 second difference off perfect per day will be met with howls of derision by those with experience on this forum. I challenge you to read back on this post of yours in a year or two when you have become significantly more knowledgeable and I can assure you that you will likely feel very embarrassed for even raising it.

I am guessing you have never had the opportunity of regulating a watch before? Unless you have extremely sophisticated tools, if you get within 15 seconds either way you will happily settle for that. it's nigh on impossible to get under 5 seconds without numerous attempts going over and about 15seconds let alone getting to 0secs.

My advice is to be grateful for such a low time difference which depending on how you wear the watch may even translate to it not losing any time at all. Even a watch showing 0 sec/day may gain or lose time depending on how it is worn....
