Recommended Posts

Cheapskate

I am buying my dad a 50th bday pres he deserves it but he has a keen eye and will not wear if he knows it a rep.

I need a 1:1 Tag with box and certificate

Is it even possible to get this with the Swiss movement?

Any suggestions??

I don't think it's smart making your email your screen name...

This isn't going to have a happy ending.

So you want to buy your Dad a rep and fool him it's a Gen. What's going to happen when he takes it to an AD when he gets the first issue,

Is this just a prolonged way of asking who has the best Tag?

Yes, you want to change your screen name friend. Welcome to the forum.

Are you going to pass a rep off to your Dad as a gen? If so, I don't really have any suggestions.

You can get a nice gen TAG on Amazon at a reasonable price.

First of all welcome.

And second is do your reading around and don't ask questions like this before you do!

In here you can buy reps and only reps and if this is your way of asking if there is a rep you can pass as a gen to someone than the answer is no! There is no 1:1 rep!!!!!

All the reps are just that, the reps.

I wouldn't lie to anybody it is a gen abd especialy my farher!

I wouldn't fool my dad against his beliefs. Thank God your dad doesn't fancy gold Pateks, gen Tags are more affordable. Do the right thing and get him a gently used gen, he's worth it.

You can look on Chrono24 (but remember to do diligence: they only list sellers and will have no recourse through Chrono24 if not satisfied)

For new and gently used...you can find a gen TAG on ebay.

Buy only from a known and reputable sellers there since you don't seem to know about reps...

so you may not know much about gens.

Good luck

Hi and welcome.

The Tag Aquaracer 300m Grande Date is powered by a Swiss Ronda Quartz, gen-like function 1/10 seconds sweep and it´s a 1:1, not worth getting the gen.

Welcome, that's a bit weird, for his birthday, and if you father don't want a rep, why would you buy him one ?

Maybe you should think to buy a gen less expensive like an Hamilton for example.

Nevertheless good luck with your search.

Wow! You want to buy a rep and let your dad think it's a gen?!!!! How about being a man and being truthful to him? Do you not have any respect for him? If you know he won't wear a rep, why lie about it like a little kid? Go buy him a gen. Most gen Tags are not that expensive. If you can't afford new, go buy pre-owned.

Look at this page...

http://www.ebay.com/...cat=0&_from=R40

Note that many gen TAGs are quartz.

You can get gen pre-owned for practically the cost of even a great rep.

Buy him something you can afford and don't be as low as trying to pull the wool over his eyes.

In case this is confusing, I'll spell it out:

for many of us who love/loved our dads, the thought of getting a rep when he would not appreciate one is somewhat distasteful. Go gen (new/pre-owned), get something else, or even nothing but show him your love in other ways.

Absolutely spot on. Your Dad is still here, enjoy that.

It would be preferable to buy you old man a box of (gen swiss) chocolates instead of rep watch.

A pretend gift is a a pretend gesture. Don't...
