Rebirth of a ledgend. Seamaster 300 Master Co axle Rep Review.

Recommended Posts

PhillyRock

I wanted a new Omega but was getting tired of the same old thing over and over. Tim, at watch-finder had a really simple but sharp looking Seamaster.

The watch had a vintage look about it. Clean dial, case was shaped well, hands were really good looking and the price was lower than expected.

I looked into the Gen because I really loved the way it looked. I wanted to see what the real deal looked like before I pulled the trigger.

I was shocked.

It was DEAD ON to the Gen. AMAZING!!!!!

As I have the watch in hand, and looking at it in comparison to the Gen on the Omega site, this is my verdict:

PRO'S

Dial face is as per Gen

Bezel edge is as per Gen

Case is as per Gen

Crown is as per Gen

Size is as per Gen

Lug holes are as per Gen

Hands are as per Gen

Hour Markers are as per Gen

Numbers on Bezel is as per Gen

Movement printing is as per Gen

Crystal edge at bezel lipped as per Gen

Bracelet is as per Gen

Clasp is as per Gen (even the damned slider under the clasp)

CON'S

Lume isn't as good as Gen

Lume is ONE color as Gen is two (hands and bezel pearl Blue, markers Green)

Bezel number do not glow as per Gen

Glare from ceramic bezel when light is very bright

I think this is by far the best Rep for the money currently available. (under $300)

This is amazing and the one Omega I would go for right now. Is it as thin as it looks like? A pity fat Panda isn´t transhipping any more. Congrats, that strap looks just fantastic to go with it.

Thanks for the pics and review.

14mm thick, as the Gen is measured in at 13mm so it is a touch over.

With everything that is right about this watch I think the 1 millimeter in thickness difference is completely acceptable.

I've worn this watch for an entire day and it's now my favorite Omega.

41mm wide, comfortable feel, it doesn't scream for attention but when it's noticed people are star struck.

The supervisor of the athletic department said it was the most beautiful watch he's seen in a very long time.

I think I agree.

Another con the bezel under the machined edge is satin on rep, polished on gen.

Bezel numbers don't glow actually. And pearl / hour hand I think is easily fixable.

The lumed bezel version actually is fan´s marketing but if I get one of these I think Kenny could do the trick and it´s worth it:

It sure is a gem!

The dial is very well replicated, looks identical to gen!

How's the Bracelet feeling Philly? Im not really fuss about bracelet but i just got my moonie recently and the quality of the bracelet is really low...

Mine just arrived! Not taken it out of the loads of shrink wrap its covered in yet but looks great and the sweep looks fine to me. Yep it's low beat, but the gen ain't high beat anyway so it being 6 beats a second rather than the gen's 7 is a non issue especially as the movement itself is pretty much bullet proof

Lookin forward to the pics mate!! Excitement building for my own one. The low beat ain't an issue for me either it's the overall quality that I've picked this for.
