Need some advice on a Rolex Replica

Recommended Posts

PeterWorcester

Hi all,

I'm a newbie here. Never bought a replica before, always the real thing. I recently was forced to sell my 2002 SeaDweller for personal reasons and I'd like to have a "good" quality Replica of a Rolex GMT Master II.

I found this watch on a "Trusted Site" called http://www.Replicamake.com (here is the watch URL http://www.replicamake.com/product_info.ph...roducts_id=2004 )

It's a Vintage Anniversary model GMT-Master II called "RL05601 ROLEX GMT-MASTER II (50TH ANNI) SWISS ETA 2836-2 CERAMIC" It appears to be a deecnt replica from a supposed Trusted Dealer but I'd like some opinions from all you gurus.

It supposedly has Swiss ETA 2836-2 Modified automatic Movement, 28000bph guts , which I uunderstand is a decent insides but has anyone had any experience with this watch ?

I'm particularly curious given the low price for a supposedly Swiss inside.

TIA,

Peter

One of the Rolex guys should be along shortly mate, send Mary (watchinternational) an email she guarantees ETA inside if she says so. Mind you Lay at replicamake is good too afaik. make sure to ask is it genuine ETA inside and ask for pics of the watch to be sent to you.

That's a great rep and you won't be disappointed with the quality. The only downside is that the movement, even though Swiss ETA is a bastardized GMT movement with the GMT module that is assembled in China and it's not particularly good. If you're buying it for looks and don't plan on using the GMT a whole lot you'll love it. The GMtT hand isn't 100% reliable and there have been lots of complaints about it not following correctly. Also be aware that the Rolex GMT has a different hand stack than the replica. The Rolex GMT hand is second from the dial and the ETA it's the first hand from the dial. It's quite noticeable to a Rolex expert.

Why not save yourself $50 and go for the clone movement?

As far as I can tell it's the same watch just a clone mvmt rather than ETA...

Personally interested in other members thoughts to this suggestion...

I agree. I'd also look into this on that's on sale by a member of RWI with the A21j movement. As much as I'm not really a fan of 21j movements, when you're getting a GMT I really think you're getting a better working movement with the Asian. At least it was made to be a GMT movement, unlike the 2836-2.
