dudermania 0 Posted May 20, 2015 I'm not an AP kind of guy but a really comprehensive review by the OP. If I was into the Royal Oak madness - I'd have one hand on my wallet and the other in my pants right now.
machiavegli 6 Posted May 20, 2015 @ loiidol and dudemania, thanks. This is the most expensive rep that I haven't regretted for a minute -Mach
Nikohublot 0 Posted May 21, 2015 Thank you for this review ! This is my rep grail watch . Only thing that holds me back from purchase is not the price its the torubi movement :/ ... Live in germany so if something is broken sending it back to china is not easy and here i dont have watchsmith that can handle tourbis :( .... What do you think? Are you happy with it? Do you use the watch often? Im a very active person , and the torubi is sensitive (of course not going to gym with the watch). Thanks in advance
machiavegli 6 Posted May 21, 2015 Hi Niko, I'm wearing it a ton. It has even been to the gym once when I forgot I had it on! About the $$, I feel your pain, I sold $1K of used watches to justify the expense -Mach
LRL 0 Posted May 21, 2015 Great looking watch with a review to match. Very nice
honeybear 0 Posted May 21, 2015 A beautiful watch, and a wonderful review, thank you for sharing. I tried the gen while I was in Zurich a few years ago, and it's an absolute beauty!
machiavegli 6 Posted May 21, 2015 HBear thanks so much for checking this out- loved your article comparing tourby movements & you're a great asset to us at RWG. Thanks LRL too for the props, glad you liked it & hope you pick one up! -Mach

myaz 3 Posted May 24, 2015 A most useful review. Splendid use of side by side rep/gen pics, it greatly helps comparisons. You clearly spent vast amounts of time putting this together.
machiavegli 6 Posted May 24, 2015 Myaz, it took so much time I think Mrs Mach thinks I'm crazy. I'd love to see more gen vs rep reviews too (reading not writing, it's a pain!). Thanks life_ID! -Mach

machiavegli 6 Posted May 26, 2015 Thanks Whitez. I just found a cool post on RepGeek showing how to mod the hour reduction gear to get that closer to gen... http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=240092 -Mach

shinjun 0 Posted August 9, 2015 Hi there! I am new to this forum, and I already fell in love with that AP tourbillon thanks to your amazing review. I live in France and I was wondering If i was to acquire one of these, what are the odds that the tourbillon movement "breaks"? And how would I have to "repair" it? Thanks in advance! -Shin
machiavegli 6 Posted August 28, 2015 Thanks Haski and Shin! If it breaks you'll need to send it back to your TD in China & you're out at least $50 shipping. I have a buddy who trained in watchmaking in Switzerland and he said if anything were to happen he would NOT be of help. Any responsible TD will include a video in their QC to show its working before they ship. This is the most reliable of the tourby movements. -Mach
