weapon-x 0 Posted September 23, 2016 After toiling away hour after hour, countless dollars spent on green leather, numerous attempts at trying to create the perfect 382 strap, I've FINALLY made one I'm happy with and does justice to the majesty that is the Panerai 382. I bought a British surplus WW2 field bag from eBay for $24, and decided to chop it up to craft a strap for the 382 because the color was so perfect. Everything I needed besides the thread was contained within the bag. I took two brass cotter pins and heated them with a torch to straighten them, added a little solder to the back to keep them closed. Used a true brass gromitt for the buckle hole keeping it simple. This is where I sourced the strap, And this is the result of persistence, blood, sweat and tears. The brass buckle looks fucking amazing. Fine work, has paid off. Sswells 0 Posted September 23, 2016 Looks awesome. If you make another you need to run the serial num off the bag across the strap.. think that would put it over the top.. just not sure how wide the num are relative to a strap width... Killer idea. Love the re=purposing into something useful - killed it
