Tried to replace gshock battery and watch dead!

Haven't worn my g shock in a long time and it was dead. Ok, bad battery right? Replaced battery and still no life. Either replaced battery wrong or bad watch I guess??????

Depending on model.

Once a new battery is installed, some models require "rebooting".

If there is an "AC" position on the movement back, short a pair of tweezers between the + side of the battery and the "AC" spot for a few seconds.

Also if you had left the battery in after it was flat, pay particular attention that all the battery contacts are clean. Any verdigris or contamination will not help. You can clean these with a scratch pen, or even a screwdriver tip. Make sure you have a shiny brass finish.

When you replaced the battery, did you make sure you got the exact same one? For instance, dont replace an SR920W with an SR920SW.

Have you checked that the new battery going in is fully charged?

Its amazing how many flat "new" batteries we see!
