BenjaminButton 149 Posted September 20, 2015 Got a little bored waiting for some supplies in the mail so looked around to see what was on hand. I knocked up this:26/26 Brown Toad skin. One fixed and one floating keeper, tan waxed thread and natural sides. from this: to this: stitching: compliation: Cheers This is really great. Natural edges really work for me at the moment. The contrast between the hides face, edge and the precision of the watch makes is a very handsome marriage. This looks soft, how soft is it?
Bncrpt 1 Posted September 20, 2015 Looking great Ian! That brown toad is a great colour!

Thanks, yes it's quite soft from new, it's three layers and the toad on top. Will become softer over time with wear. Cheers

Cubic Hare 494 Posted September 30, 2015 Today I'm trying something completely out of the box. Not being a fan of rubber straps due mainly to the climate here and with Summer just around the corner I wanted to do a strap for my 616. I wanted to remain true to the rubber style but in leather and something a little different. I had one black Toad pelt here so decided to use that. The rubber strap was 26/22 so I wanted to do the same. I photocopied (xerox for the Antipodeans) and laminated a blue OP logo in various sizes and set about making an insert. Here's a work in progress as I ran out of daylight. My blue thread still hasn't turned up from Ali, I opened a dispute today, it's been 47 days. Went with the waxed neutral tan thread I have. you can see the light is fading. More pics tomorrow once I punch some holes and mount it in proper light. Cheers
