JSJ 0 Posted August 7, 2016 Finished this special order. It turned out well and will look killer on a ceramic 508 with Sub buckle. I matched the ercu colour of the indices and hands with .6mm waxed natural thread. Cheers That is one very good-looking strap. Thanks! Looking forward to wearing it . My health has hit me for a curve ball so I have been in and out of action for the past few months. Hence the lack of strap action on this thread. None the less, it seems this treatment has me on the mend and the straps was just a winter hobby anyway so I'm currently enjoying the great outdoors in this very hot summer. Having just bought a house as well and being equipped with both a clean and dirty works workshop area I have been all caught up with any free time decking out my workspace. Really looking forward to getting into it once again in the cooler months and get back to making some guitars. Something I have not done for years now as the last place I lived at had no workshop space at all, even the straps were made at the kitchen table. Cubic Hare 494 Posted July 19, 2017 Ongoing health issues aside I have had some time off work and feeling bored this week I have prepared some strap blanks at 22,24 and 26mm ready to make some Toad, Emu, Shark, Chicken Foot and Fish skin straps. Stay tuned....
Cubic Hare 494 Posted July 20, 2017 Works in progress. I chose Orange Cane Toad, Brown Cobra and Blue Fish skin for my first three straps in a long time. Toad 22mm, Cobra 24mm and Fish is 26mm. I've had enough for today, time for a beer. Punch and stitch another time..

Cubic Hare 494 Posted July 23, 2017 Glad to see you back making a go of it! Do you have some pieces picked out for these to go on? Thanks, it's been a while. The Cobra will probably go on a 24mm bronze, the toad on my Pumpkin Omega and the fish, I'm not too sure just yet but I am building a homage with blue hands so maybe that. The fish is one of the most delicate leathers I have ever handled. Nothing like the toad or even Elephant which is so damn robust. Will post pics once I get around to stitching and mounting them. Cubic Hare 494 Posted October 27, 2017 I looked deep in my skins box and found a suitable Toad hide for this Colamariner. After a quick cut and glue it's ready to stitch. What colour do you think I should stitch it? Silver grey, White or Off-white? I'm leaning towards silver. Cubes
