Cubic Hare 494 Posted June 25, 2016 Heres one I'm working on today for my Black Bay Bronze. 22/22 dirty chicken leg leather. I'm not sure whether to stitch this with chocolate brown to match the dial and bezel or a bronze brown to match the case once it patinas a bit...
Cubic Hare 494 Posted June 26, 2016 So, I decided on the Chocolate Brown but it would not have mattered which I chose as the amazing texture and patterns in this leather seem to just swallow up the stitching and render it almost invisible. Seen here on my Black Bay Bronze which currently sits in a plastic bag with a smashed hard boiled egg as a patina experiment. Pics to follow once I'm happy with the level of patina. This will be interesting.
mysterio 18 Posted June 26, 2016 You're going to make a strap from eggshells? Easy with the patination.
Cubic Hare 494 Posted June 26, 2016 So after about five hours in the bag with the boiled egg the bronze has darkened some. It displays hues of blue and red but is overall evenly darker. These are a few shots under incandescent light as it's night now and no chance for any natural light shots. I actually like the way the colour tone changes as the light flicks over the case. Judging by my other bronze watches which I have left to patina naturally a 382 and Zenith Bronze Pilot I figure I have accelerated the patina process by at least 6 months. Cubic Hare 494 Posted June 30, 2016 Egg forced patina update after a few days and in better light. I love the red and blue hues in the bronze now.

Cubic Hare 494 Posted August 5, 2016 I went to visit my leather dealer today just to buy some thread to finish up a few orders and he had these really nice skins. Two types of green and a BIG orange toad skin and this magnificent vibrant blue Barramundi fish skin that's finished so well i couldn't refuse... Now once I'm back in action after the operation what to make????
