JohnG 41 Posted October 26, 2015 I don´t know if I already said this a while ago, but I really like the toad. I have a few that hang out behind my house at night, but for now they are safe. Actually, I did buy some burgundy snake from my supplier - but he didn´t know what kind of snake, nothing trully exotic, just "snake". Have to make something one of these days. . Hi John, Toad is one of my favourites too, the reptilian texture and hard wearing leather makes it a dream to work with. I picked up the Burgundy snake above from my dealer a couple of weeks ago and he didn't know what variety of snake it was either. Just snake. The orange one above is fish, Carp to be exact and it was surprisingly good to work with. I like exotics and always on the lookout for different things.. Cheers Ian
JohnG 41 Posted October 26, 2015 My place doesn´t have too much in the way of exotics - I generally only work with vegetable tanned leather and dye it and I haven´t tried anything else except suede and canvas. For some reason Spain sucks for sourcing exotics - not like in the States where there are a ton of websites. Internet commerce in Spain is like ten years behind the U.S. I imagine Australia is, like the UK, about par with the U.S. But here they are slow adopters. . Cubic Hare 494 Posted October 26, 2015 Hi John, most of mine are either on a veg tan kangaroo backing, lucky enough to get very usable offcuts in a lot of colours or from the upholstery guys at work when they recover things.Makes good soft backing. My dealer has a fair bit of exotic material, I'm still to try his stingray and ostrich foot, he's trying for some shark and is currently out of stock of chicken foot panels. Crazy huh? They come in different colours and I'll jump on some when he gets more. I'm not sure if it's even usable as a watch strap but I'll have a go. Cheers Ian Chicken Foot Indigo Blue

Cubic Hare 494 Posted November 1, 2015 BLING THING is finished. Another one I made today is a 22mm Orange Toad with thick black waxed thread. Seen here on my LMPO Pumpkin. Here's another I'm undecided what colour thread to use. What do you guys think? Black or white as seen here? or any of these colours? Cheers
