Cubic Hare 494 Posted November 15, 2015 I finished the Toad Pilot today too. Lucky it's for me as the stitching is a bit wonky. I just used the Awl to punch holes and punching through the lumps on the Toad skin was like punching through a fingernail making the stitching difficult. Note to self, use the fucking drill. Always. Always learning....

Cubic Hare 494 Posted November 24, 2015 you have a great talent my friend. Thank you mate, that's much appreciated. I'm still learning all about straps and leather techniques and having a lot of fun along the way. Anything I make in profit goes to buying tools and more skins / leather supplies. For me it's not so much a source of income as I have a full time job, it's more something to do when I'm not at work which is often as I work 4 days on and 4 days off... Cubic Hare 494 Posted November 26, 2015 A few more toad skins. Top Row: Chocolate Brown, Dark Brown, Mocca, Mustard Yellow, Golden Yellow, Lime Green, Maroon, Purple. Bottom Row: Gun Metal, Black, Camel, Turquoise, Blue, Light Purple, Grey, Orange and Olive Green. different view and light Pink and Blue Pythons (Chicks dig pink) Blue closeup: Pink closeup: Emu hide: Similar to Ostrich but with finer pin hole effect in the hide, very very soft leather. Black: Brown: And now for something extremely rare and unusual, Chicken Foot panels: These have the most amazing Reptillian like texture, The feet are sewn into panels so I will have to work the stitching into the straps somehow. Need to think outside the box for these, stay tuned.. Blue: Cream Brown: Black & Tan: Cognac: (this one looks real classy) I better get to it... ciao

Cubic Hare 494 Posted November 30, 2015 and the Blue and Black buffed Shargreen Shark Skins just turned up. Shargreen Shark leather has been used for centuries on the handles of swords for example for it's sandpaper like grip. Todays modern tanning methods and by selectively buffing the skin you get an almost woodgrain appearance and unique softness to the Shark. I look forward to trying these out. They feel amazing. Almost Fluffy (not fat)..
Cubic Hare 494 Posted November 30, 2015 Aussie "Coat of Arms" MkII - Brown Emu on veg tan Kangaroo. This one is 24/24 on my SOH. stitching... The Emu and Kangaroo were chosen for our coat of arms not only because they are uniquely Australian but because they can not walk backwards. To my knowledge we are the only country that eats the animals on the coat of arms so it's suitable that now we can wear them on our wrist. Cheers
GenTLe 1,509 Posted November 30, 2015 Amazing work you do! May I take the opportunity to ask you how do you manage to do such good holes? I have bought in the past some strap from Vietnam and they came with no holes... I tried using these: but well... The results were POOR (to say it in a very nice way)... Which is the trick to punch these holes in good way? Thanks
Cubic Hare 494 Posted November 30, 2015 Alex, I make a mess of the holes too.. I have used and broken both the punches you show. I have thrown away a few straps because i slipped and messed up a hole... I found the trick is to measure twice, then punch. I use round and oval punches and a center punch to mark the spots for a guide... PM incoming with a link to the set I use. Thanks for your kind words Ian

Cubic Hare 494 Posted December 8, 2015 Love that deep rich red. You also are doing a good job selecting the part of the patchwork skins to work with. Keep up the good job! Thanks mate, Rhode Island Red? The tricky part is selecting the part of the patchwork that will suit the strap. The stitching needs to blend in...
