_DC_ 218 Posted June 23, 2015 For the first time since I've owned this watch I've put it back on the bracelet it originally came with! Yes believe it or not my 5107 Calatrava didn't come on a strap, as some of you will know it nearly didn't come at all (got seized by customs), but it was eventually delivered to my good friend Pseudonym on this beautiful polished link bracelet! The gen 5107 was available with a bracelet but it's very rare to see one. As you can see it was a little different to my rep with a kinda wave design ... My rep bracelet appears to be more like the bracelet which came on the later 5127, again very rare, seen here... But it really transforms the watch, very different look and really comfortable feel... The polished links don't pull hairs or pinch skin, they're super comfy, and the bracelet is finished with a nice double deployant clasp with Calatrava logo... So what do you guys think, which is better?! DC
nyckid 0 Posted June 23, 2015 As always, a very helpful and thorough review. Thanks, DC
Robeng 0 Posted June 23, 2015 Bracelet totally changes the watch. Looks great but my vote goes with the leather.. Really classy the perfect comb imo. When are you selling..? (As if) ha ha.
KeNnY 29 Posted June 23, 2015 I like it, looks like Longiness EDIT: keep that on leather and get this Longiness
N.Rico 1 Posted June 23, 2015 looks very good on bracellet but IMOP looks better in leather ,thats a very classic piece .
Stewart 0 Posted June 23, 2015 It goes from sports watch to classic evening watch. I love the bracelet and the leather and it is cool that you have the option to modify the look so dramatically. Thanks for sharing.
Foxindebox 464 Posted June 23, 2015 The bracelet is lovely. But for me, it has to be on leather
_DC_ 218 Posted June 24, 2015 Seems like generally people prefer to see a Calatrava on leather!! Well I'm gonna enjoy it on bracelet for a while, it's a nice change and really can't emphasise enough just how comfy it is!! DC
alanArgon 1 Posted June 24, 2015 DC - I always enjoy your posts! I prefer the leather - more posh and classic
James. 4 Posted June 24, 2015 Bracelet ftw, rarer rep and gen wise, more sporty but still calatrava understated
Skogstad 0 Posted June 24, 2015 Why so conservative, this is a Calatrava on Nato.. No need for the bracelt or the leather strap. Picture found on www
dudermania 0 Posted June 24, 2015 I'm a sucker for leather _DC_. Somehow leather and Patek go better together in my mind.
Barth 0 Posted June 24, 2015 Bracelet makes the watch look cheap I find. If you want a bracelet, just buy a Ali Tissot !!
Kleen™ 45 Posted June 24, 2015 Leather by miles, mate! I don't think the bracelet does anything good for the look of the watch - makes it look a bit like an Explorer 1 in overall appearance.
Godfathar 1 Posted June 24, 2015 Leather by miles, mate! I don't think the bracelet does anything good for the look of the watch - +1.. although I see the straight links are better looking from the wavy ones from the gen..
_DC_ 218 Posted June 24, 2015 Overall I'm the only person really loving this on a bracelet, haha, well it's a good thing I'm not desperate for the approval of others (goes into a quiet room to cry coz everyone hates his watch)!! DC
RussP 22,285 Posted June 27, 2015 Nah, Dave. Bracelet for me too. I am however, a leather fan, through n through. Somehow the bracelet gives the Calatrava an 'added' sense of understated class.
Vreds 0 Posted June 27, 2015 Leather. It looks like a Seiko with the bracelet.

speirsro 0 Posted June 27, 2015 I'm with you, DC. I like both, but I think the bracelet suits the face. Good for a change though.

Wasserman 0 Posted August 13, 2015 I really like the look with the bracelet. I think it looks dressy enough yet can still look sporty.
