Just a note about these watches, and how to avoid problems:

The Boctok/Vostok 44MM Ministry series has had a significant number of warranty returns for this model watch, either starting and stopping, or not running at all, or the most telltale only running in the upside down position. After much investigatory and reproductive investigation, as well as survey input from customers, in has become clear that a leading factor in these issues is the way the wearer restarts the watch after it has been unworn for a period of time sufficient enough to drain the power reserve. Many wearers reported a method of tapping the watch against the palm heal of their left hand while holding the watch in their right hand until they hear the rotor spinning several times. This action can in fact break the balance staff pivot. The correct procedure for restarting an automatic watch after the reserve has run out is to either manually wind a few turns until the watch starts, or to shake the watch gently using a figure eight motion. This will restart the watch and cause no damage to the watch. The tapping against the palm heel method can void the warranty as it is considered misuse and or neglect of the watch and is easily spotted by factory technicians by the balance staff pivot being broken off at the narrowing just before the pivot on the staff.
