Slight imperfection on Seiko SKX007 day wheel

Recommended Posts

indytim

I recently picked up a Seiko SKX007 but after wearing it for a couple of weeks today noticed a slight imperfection on the day wheel. To explain, the bottom of the letter U on SUN is slightly uneven on one side (the font is the tiniest bit thicker as if ink had smudged) and there is a tiny line extending vertically from it. Without closely examining the watch you would even notice this imperfection but now I know it's there it 'niggles' me.

Any thoughts? Is this to be expected? Am I being too much of a perfectionist considering the watch's price point?

The question to ask is will you be able to live with this?

Look on the bright side, it'll only bother you once a week ;)

It's such a small imperfection that it's proving hard to capture with a camera but this should give you some idea of what I described.

Seriously?! I couldn't even see it in the embedded pic and had to load the full size pic to know what you were talking about.

If things like that bother you then I'd suggest that you buy an Apple watch and sell everything else! :D

I have a 009J (the so-called higher quality Japan version) and the chapter ring is out of alignment with the dial. It happens.

Yeah that's fine. Would not spoil my Seiko Sundays.

Holy shit, you must have some good eyes to spot that. If that's the only quality issue with the watch I'd count my blessings and carry on.

Jesus, please don't buy reps if that bothers you on a sub $200 watch.

And it's a great watch. Mine has a Murphy bezel mod.

I'd file that under "not an issue". I had to buy 3 of these before I got one that didn't have a misaligned chapter ring like Del mentioned.

Mate, not sure what are you talking about as I do not recognize this as a flaw in ~200 USD watch. If that really bothers you so much order a new day-wheel from Rob/Yobokies or Dagaz.

Regards
