greg_r 81 Posted July 28, 2015 I'm not going to do a full review of this as _DC_ did an excellent job with his earlier in the year ( http://www.rwg.bz/bo...showtopic=95457 ). However, having read his review I didn't expect to see another 5131j so soon - let alone brand new. DC bought his from Ishmael who had, apparently, picked it up some considerable time ago. Sure it's flawed. An inexpensive rep of a $130k gen is bound to have some pretty serious inaccuracies (in this case there's no actual GMT function and the rep is quartz rather than auto - not that it really matters, as there's no running seconds to give that away). Nevertheless it was a nice-looking rep of a very rare watch, so the flaws can maybe be lived with. Anyhow, none of us expected to see another one as we all thought this rep had been discontinued a decade ago. Apparently we were wrong. I picked this up brand new - it arrived yesterday Unlike DC's, the bezel is actually mounted the right way up on this one. It came on a glossy croco-print strap that is rather better than expected, but probably worth replacing if I decide to keep it. And yes, it's quartz, but what the hell. Size is as per the gen at about 40mm (i.e. too bloody small - I can barely see the damn thing! ). I dunno whether I'm gonna keep it - I picked it up on impulse out of curiosity and because of rarity value, but at least I can confirm that they're still available! Oh, and they're cheap, too. I paid just over £

greg_r 81 Posted July 28, 2015 Just like the budget, you are a bit tight with the pics. Lovely case design though. I spent all yesterday getting this place up and running again. Today I get to catch up with the work I didn't manage to do yesterday. And you want more pics.... I'll take a few more when I have time.

_DC_ 218 Posted July 28, 2015 Blimey, not such a rare bird after all!! Although it looks to be rose gold, but if anything that's better, yellow gold is hard to wear these days! Looks good, is it actually 40mm coz mine was about 37mm so bigger would be better too (which is a weird thing to be saying about a Patek rep since it's usually the exact opposite)! Nice to have the bezel the right way up, lol, not too much to ask is it?! DC

No wonder the hands look so bloody tiny!

Jooost 0 Posted July 28, 2015 Where did you get this Greg? I've asked a few TD's I've worked with before about these, but they said it wasn't available... Love the design of the watch, and the gen is a bit over my budget, just a bit over...
