Second Aliexpress replica - Panerai Luminor Marina rubber strap

Recommended Posts

tero2016

Hello,

This is my second replica from Aliexpress, this time from a different seller and different brand.

On my first order I got an Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean:

This time I ordered a Panerai Luminor Marina with rubber band.

All I can say is that it was a great experience, great communciation with seller and very fast EMS shipping to US, only 6 days to arrive to Miami.

The seller shipped it the next day I payed and he also sent me QC pics.

Unfortunatelly I checked back the seller's page and it does exist but no products listed (he had many many before). I think this usually happens with AE stores.

I paid total (with EMS shipping included) 101 USD.

Here the pics:

I think you did better with the Omega. If you like it that's all that matters.

This one looks quite cheap.

Your thread is going to be canned though... or at least moved to the aliexpressmess which you won't be able to view as you aren't a VIP

Photos were taken with poor light and using a cell phone, that may lower the quality appearance.

Not great - you'd have done a lot better spending a little more with a TD, frankly.

You could have picked up one of Toro's special offer PAM's for similar money and that would have been much better quality wise.

Yeah, I understand...

But usually when I criticise anything, I try to justify my point of view just to sound more convinced and maybe help the other person.

Still no feedback on what is so bad...

numbers are way too green. Pams are something I always advise against getting from Ali as you can always get something decent from dealers like Toro or Sead for not much more

shape of numbers, colour of lume, depth of sandwich dial, are the obvious ones from the front, looks like its all polished when some parts are meant to be brushed, and the printing on the movement looks like the type that falls off (something you really dont want in a watch movement) Like I said before it doesn't look bad for the money but for not much more you could have got an almost super rep

Numbers are over green, lume is probably poor, metal case and engravings in the movement...

CG is pretty poor too. Really, there's not a whole lot to like about this one...

I generally don't like to throw shit around, but since you asked multiple times:

- Crown guard is all wrong. Should be brushed instead of polished, edges and corners should be sharp (not rounded), pin should be flat (not rounded), lever should have a rollerball and sit closer to the case when closed, part touching crown should be at 90 degree angle.

- Dial is also off. Lume color is wrong (should be creamier rather than greenish), shape of number cutouts are wrong, marker cutouts look fat and too deep, dial print is off, and it looks like you have a recessed cannon pin.

- On the back, engravings are funky, the "E" on Panerai is wonky, and no swan neck.

You also have case/lug shape issues, a fat crown, etc., but the ones I listed are those that scream rep to me. This actually looks a lot like an old cartel pam from 10 yrs ago ...

For $100, it is what it is. A super rep from Toro would have been about double that price (including shipping), but you would have got a lot more watch for the money that would have kept you happy for a long time. That said, if you're happy with this one (even after our critiques...), that's all that matters.

Greg, should this stay in the panerai section?

Total wrong lume color (supposing that green shows also when the lume is not active), wrong crown guard finiture

These are the most evident in my eyes.

Does anyone know if I can get a brushed crown guard to replace this One?

Save yourself the bother and get a new Panerai to replace this one.
