Great thread you started Plankton!! I've had this since 1993 and is still my personal favorite. Ever reliable zenith movement gives superb accuracy to this day! Have gotten crazy offers for this piece but some things are meant to be kept.

Superb - not much love for a standard daytona but the Zenith's sure are nice.

Thanks so much.. I just really feel fortunate to have it and I purchased it during a time when prices weren't as insane as they are now.

I got mine form an AD back in 1999.. was so close of surrendering to temptation and trade it in for an AP ROO Safari. but I am so glad that I didn't. I still have this baby, and would never let go..

I know exactly how you feel as that bug almost bit me more times than it should've. Great decision keeping it my friend.

Duzza

Just in case anyone missed it from my post earlier. All Rolex watches now come with a 5 year warranty and watches sold as such are now marked with a green swing tag compared to the traditional red. I understand this cam in to play in June 2015.

Yes and I'm jealous......................... I missed it by one week............................................................ That is a great thing for future resale Duzza.

Should definitely boost already strong residual values.

Kcore

Don't know if anyone else's AD will do this but mine does and it saves me a pretty penny. My AD mails the empty gen box to my office which is a different state than where his store is located and I wear the watch home. No sales tax! On a big ticket item that's. Lot of $$$ saved

Yes it does get to the point where another 10k or so makes a big difference. I assume these are paid in cash as well. Financing these toys would be rather financially foolish.

Sadly, I'll never be a member of your exclusive club, but I'll enjoy looking at your photos and reading your funny gen Rolex anecdotes. :beer2:

Cheers Plank ...........it was the reason i joined this forum 3 years ago to buy a rep gold sub [ which i had to send back as it was shit and then got the steel version instead ] from there it descended into three years of madness culminating in me selling most of my reps and a couple of gens to buy the gen of the rep i first wanted.

I've since recovered have got my rep collection back up to a good fighting weight again

What I have learnt so far after a couple of days of ownership:

- Even the genuine article isn't perfect, the bracelet was squeeking and needed some dry lube :)

- Rolex steel is sooo much better, stronger and resistant to scratching than the steel used in our reps.
